BMW는 5월 20일 'M4 CSL'을 유럽에서 발표했다. 신형 ‘M4 쿠페’를 베이스로 경량화를 도모하는 등 고성능 모델로 세계 한정 1,000대를 생산할 예정이다.

「CSL」이란, 「Coupe(또는 Competition) Sport Lightweigh」의 약어. BMW M의 2도어 쿠페 정점에 위치한 모델이다. 하지만, 2004년 'M3 CSL 쿠페'가 마지막이었다. 이후에는 나오지 않다가 18년 만에 부활했다.

 

초점은 경량화. 뒷좌석을 분리해 2시터화하는 것으로, 21kg의 무게를 덜었고, 풀 버킷 시트 채용으로 24kg, M 카본 세라믹 브레이크나 전용 알루미늄 휠 등, 섀시의 변경으로 21kg, 차음재를 줄이고 경량 단열재 를 사용하여 15kg. 보닛과 트렁크 리드, 센터 콘솔에 탄소 섬유 강화 플라스틱 (CFRP)를 사용하여 11kg, 티타늄제 소음기로 4kg 등의 무게를 덜었다. 이렇게 해서 총 무게는 1,625kg으로 억제되었다.

 

 

파워트레인도 강화했다. 직분사 3.0리터 직렬 6기통 가솔린 트인터보 엔진의 터보 부스트 압력을 1.7bar에서 2.1bar로 끌어올렸다. 이 결과, 최고출력은 신형 M4 쿠페의 「콤페티션」보다, 40hp 높은 550hp/6250rpm까지 뿜는다. 최대토크는 66.3kgm으로 같지만, 2,750~5,950rpm의 보다 폭넓은 영역에서 만든다.

 

변속기는 "드라이브 로직」를 탑재한 8단 「M스텝 트로닉」이다. 동력 성능은 0~100km/h 가속이 0.2초 단축되어 3.7초에. 최고속은 290km/h에서 307km/h로 올랐다.

With its next-level power and intelligent lightweight design, two-seater configuration, model-specific chassis upgrades and equipment features selected specially for the job at hand, the new BMW M4 CSL has track driving as its raison d’être. The genes the M4 CSL shares with its competition-spec sibling, the BMW M4 GT3, are also reflected in its performance attributes. In test runs on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit, the BMW M4 CSL posted the fastest lap times ever for a series-produced BMW car. On the version of the track traditionally used for comparison purposes – which is 20.600 kilometres / 12.8 miles in length and doesn’t include the straight at section T13 – it stopped the clock at 7 min. 15.677 sec. Its official and notarised lap time for the 20.832-kilometres / 12.943-mile circuit (the complete lap) was 7 min. 20.207 sec. Acceleration figures of 3.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) and 10.7 seconds for the sprint from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) are similarly impressive.

“Competition, Sport, Lightweight”: a recipe with a rich tradition.

The stripped-back racing character of the BMW M4 CSL is underpinned by a time-honoured concept that harnesses cutting-edge development expertise and the latest technology to create an enthralling end result. “CSL” stands for “Competition, Sport, Lightweight”, referencing the critical role of weight-minimised design in achieving success in motor sport. The BMW 3.0 CSL developed by BMW Motorsport GmbH according to this same principle won the European Touring Car Championship at the first attempt in 1973. And the M4 CSL is also following in the tyre tracks of successful special-edition models from earlier generations of the BMW M3/M4, most notably the legendary BMW M3 CSL from 2003 and the BMW M4 GTS unveiled in 2016.

For BMW M GmbH, the world premiere of the new BMW M4 CSL at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este (20 – 22 May 2022) will be one of the highlights of its 50th anniversary year. Production of the special-edition model will begin – in a limited run of exactly 1,000 examples – at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in July 2022.

Present and correct in the fundamentals and the details: intelligent lightweight design in the BMW M4 CSL.

Its talent for innovation and racing-car know-how enabled BMW M GmbH to restrict the special edition’s DIN kerb weight to 1,625 kilograms. A standout power-to-weight ratio of 2.95 kilograms per hp (4.01 kg/kW) provides the ideal platform for a dynamically sublime driving experience.

Fitting M Carbon full bucket seats reduced weight by around 24 kilograms on its own compared with the standard seats fitted in the BMW M4 Competition Coupé. 21 kilograms were saved by removing the rear seats and seat belts, integrating a partition and making the associated modifications to the luggage compartment. And chassis changes, including the addition of extra-lightweight M Carbon ceramic brakes and special light-alloy wheels, springs and struts, lowered the figure by around another 21 kilograms. Paring back the amount of soundproofing plus switching to ultra-lightweight sound insulation saved around 15 kilograms, while the use of components made from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) deducted some eleven kilograms. For example, in addition to its CFRP roof, the bonnet and boot lid of the BMW M4 CSL are also hewn from this lightweight high-tech material, as is its centre console. And a titanium rear silencer cuts more than four kilograms from the weight of the exhaust system. Detail modifications to areas such as the BMW kidney grille, rear lights, floor mats and automatic climate control shave off another four kilograms.

Exclusive exterior paint finish, model-specific design features.

The body of the BMW M4 CSL is painted in the exclusive Frozen Brooklyn Grey metallic as standard. This exterior shade teams up with exposed carbon-fibre surfaces and red accents to create a visually expressive appearance of sporting purity. Alternatively, customers can specify their new M4 CSL in Alpine White solid or Sapphire Black metallic.

The carbon-fibre structure of the body components is visible in various areas, including the two chiselled indents in the bonnet. The surfaces of the indents – which are not painted in body colour – are highlighted additionally by red outlines. Red accent lines also bring extra emphasis to the two fins on the CFRP roof of the new BMW M4 CSL, the contours of its side sills, the black model badges, and the model-specific CFRP splitters and air curtain inserts in the front apron.

BMW Laserlight: yellow headlights and innovative rear lights.

The optionally available BMW Laserlight headlights bring another head-turning accent to the front end of the new BMW M4 CSL. Both in the welcome effect triggered when unlocking the doors and when the low and high beam are switched on, these headlights illuminate in yellow rather than white, bringing to mind the look of successful GT racing cars.

The LED rear lights of the new BMW M4 CSL are equipped as standard with technology making its debut in a series-produced car. Their glass covers have intricate light threads woven into them which are illuminated using laser technology, bringing a vibrant structure to the surface of the lights. This creates a highly distinctive light signature that is recognisable from a long distance during the hours of darkness.

Six-cylinder in-line engine with race-focused character.

The model-specific power unit of the BMW M4 CSL is based on the same high-revving, six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology found in the BMW M4 GT3 racing car. Its substantial performance reserves enabled a major hike in power without having to make any concessions in terms of stability or durability. Key to this power boost was an increase in the maximum charge pressure of the two mono-scroll turbochargers from 1.7 bar to 2.1 bar and model-specific tweaks to the engine management. The BMW M4 CSL’s engine develops peak torque of 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) between 2,750 and 5,950 rpm. Its maximum output of 405 kW/550 hp is produced at 6,250 rpm.

The race-derived design of the 3.0-litre engine is focused squarely on high revs and maximum power development. The crankcase’s sleeve-free, closed-deck construction helps to make it extremely rigid, while the forged lightweight crankshaft allows it to handle extremely high levels of torque. Another special M-specific feature is the cylinder head core made using 3D printing techniques.

Both the cooling and oil supply systems are designed to handle the particular challenges presented by track driving. The twin-tailpipe exhaust system with electrically controlled flaps and weight-minimised titanium rear silencer additionally generates a racing-car-inspired, emotionally engaging engine note created especially for the new BMW M4 CSL.

The drive torque produced by the engine is relayed to the rear wheels of the new BMW M4 CSL via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. Model-specific mountings for the engine and transmission ensure the engine’s power is translated into dynamic performance in exceptionally rapid and direct fashion. The firmer connection of the engine and transmission to the car’s structure is clearly perceptible, especially under hard driving.

Optimised body rigidity, model-specific chassis technology.

Like the engine in the new BMW M4 CSL, its chassis technology benefits from a wealth of detail upgrades – which have been tailored to the power unit’s performance characteristics. These modifications also factor in the substantial reduction in vehicle weight at play here and the model-specific improvements to body rigidity, allowing the blend of handling agility, dynamism and precision for which BMW M cars are renowned to be taken to new heights.

In the engine compartment, a composition of front-end strut braces developed entirely from scratch raises the body rigidity of the new BMW M4 CSL up another level. Using numerical models, the geometry of the cast aluminium elements between the spring strut towers and the front end has been adapted precisely to the forces exerted in different driving situations.

The individually tuned axle kinematics and model-specific wheel camber settings, dampers, auxiliary springs and anti-roll bars optimise steering precision, transmission of lateral control forces when cornering, spring and damping response, and wheel location. The model-specific wheel suspension is accompanied by a drop in ride height of eight millimetres compared with the BMW M4 Competition Coupé. Also to be found on the standard equipment list for the special-edition model are adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio and M Carbon ceramic brakes. An M-specific version of the integrated braking system offers the driver excellent pedal feel even when pushing the dynamic limits and in adverse road conditions.

M Traction Control optimised for the track.

The standard-fitted M Traction Control function with model-specific track tuning lets the driver set individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation. On dry surfaces, stages 1 to 5 of M Traction Control help the driver to execute controlled drifts. Stages 6 to 10 are based on the application developed for touring car racers and make allowance for both surface conditions and tyre temperature to maximise traction and directional stability.

Also specified as standard are forged M light-alloy wheels in an exclusive cross-spoke design (19 inches at the front axle and 20 inches at the rear). These are fitted with high-performance tyres specially developed for the special-edition model in size 275/35 ZR19 (front) and 285/30 ZR20 (rear).

Equipment designed to provide a race-car feeling and everyday usability.

Model-specific equipment features give the BMW M4 CSL a distinctive balance between sports car purism, unrestricted everyday usability and exclusive premium substance. The M Carbon full bucket seats for the driver and co-driver are marked out by their self-supporting CFRP structure and purposeful rejection of comfort-enhancing features. They have a fixed backrest angle, forward/back adjustments can be made manually, and the seat height can only be adjusted in a workshop using a three-stage screw linkage. The M Carbon full bucket seats also have detachable head restraints and allow the integration of a six-point belt system.

The M Alcantara steering wheel, anthracite-coloured headliner, Carbon Fibre interior trim strips, “CSL” badges on the seats, centre console and rear panel, plus M-specific displays also help to create the perfect on-board setting for concentrated driving pleasure. Merino leather trim with extended features and M seat belts are also standard. Two helmet storage units can be found in the rear compartment.

The M-specific control/operation system includes the M Setup button for direct access to numerous vehicle settings and two M buttons on the steering wheel for storing preferred configurations. Standard equipment also features the M Drive Professional system including M Drift Analyser and M Laptimer, plus the M Mode button for activating the ROAD, SPORT and TRACK settings.

The likewise standard BMW Live Cockpit Professional comprises a fully digital screen grouping made up of an instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen diagonal behind the steering wheel and a 10.25-inch control display. Among its functions are the navigation system BMW Maps, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, smartphone integration, telephony with wireless charging and a Wi-Fi interface. The BMW Head-Up Display with M-specific elements and the BMW Drive Recorder can be ordered from the options list.

The range of comfort-enhancing features and driver assistance systems fitted in the BMW M4 CSL are focused on the essentials, in keeping with its intelligent lightweight design approach and puristic vehicle concept. Standard specification includes automatic climate control, Park Distance Control, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Speed Limit Info. Two-zone automatic climate control, an alarm, and the Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant systems are available as options.

올 뉴 니로는 기아가 5년 만에 새롭게 선보이는 2세대 모델이다.

새로운 디자인 철학인 오퍼짓 유나이티드(Opposites United, 상반된 개념의 창의적 융합)와 그 속성 중 하나인 이유있는 즐거운 경험(Joy for Reason)을 적용해 독창적인 디자인을 완성했다.

차량 외관은 심플하면서도 하이테크한 감성의 공기역학적인 디자인을 갖춘 바디에 강인한 느낌을 주는 디테일로 세련되고 모험적인 이미지를 구현했다.

전면은 기아 시그니처인 타이거 페이스 디자인을 후드에서 펜더까지 확장시켜 유니크한 느낌을 주며, 심장 박동을 형상화한 LED DRL(주간주행등)로 미래지향적인 이미지를 연출했다. 여기에 휠 아치를 통해 전면과 측면을 시각적으로 연결하는 클래딩*으로 개성을 살렸다. (*클래딩 : 휠을 감싸는 휠 아치의 소재)

측면은 우아한 볼륨을 강조한 캐릭터 라인의 모던함이 돋보이며, 부메랑 모양의 LED 리어 콤비네이션 램프와 통합된 C필러가 눈길을 사로잡는다. 특히, C필러는 그 아래로 공기가 지나갈 수 있도록 공기의 흐름과 저항을 고려한 설계를 반영해 연비 효율 향상에도 도움을 준다.

후면은 수직 형태의 LED 리어 콤비네이션 램프를 적용해 간결하면서도 공기역학적인 디자인을 구현했으며, 입체적인 조형의 자동차 번호판 주변부와 와이드한 테일게이트의 조화를 통해 모던한 이미지를 표현했다.

또한 심장 박동을 형상화한 리어 리플렉터와 스키드 플레이트로 전면부와 통일감을 주는 동시에 차별화된 매력을 보여준다.

전기차 모델은 무광과 유광을 조합한 투톤 그릴에 육각형의 입체적 패턴을 적용해 고급스러우면서도 유니크한 전면부 이미지를 연출함으로써 하이브리드 모델과 차별화를 이뤘다.

또한 충전구를 전면부 중앙에 위치시켜 편의성을 높였으며, 전면과 후면 범퍼에 차체 바디와 동일한 컬러를 확장해 사용함으로써 깔끔한 느낌을 강조했다.  

실내는 파격적인 형상을 통해 독창적이고 색다른 분위기를 조성한다.

슬림한 대시보드와 도어를 연결하는 대각선의 조형은 대담하면서도 안정감 있는 느낌을 준다.

아울러 대시보드에서 도어트림으로 이어지는 대각선 사이에 와이드한 디스플레이를 배치하고 모던한 하이글로시 블랙 소재의 센터 콘솔에 전자식 변속 다이얼(SBW)을 조화시켜 하이테크한 이미지를 구현했다.  

여기에 엠비언트 라이트로 감성을 극대화했으며 직관적인 사용성을 고려한 인포테인먼트/공조 전환 조작계를 탑재해 편의성을 높였다.

신형 니로는 친환경 CMF(Color·Materials·Finish, 컬러·소재·마감) 적용을 통해 기아의 지속가능성에 대한 의지를 보여준다.

특히, 탑승객 시선이 많이 머물고 손이 자주 닿는 부분에 다양한 친환경 소재를 적용, 환경을 중시하는 고객들의 만족도를 높였다.

차량 천장(헤드라이닝)에 재활용 섬유를, 도어 판넬에 BTX(벤젠, 톨루엔, 자일렌)가 첨가되지 않은 수성 친환경 페인트를 사용했으며, 바이오 인조가죽 시트는 유칼립투스 잎에서 추출한 원료로 만든 섬유를 활용했다.  

차량 내부에 관습적으로 적용됐던 블랙 컬러에서 벗어나 회색 계열의 차콜 컬러와 녹색 계열의 페트롤 차콜 컬러를 적용해 쾌적한 분위기를 조성했다.

기아는 신형 니로를 주제로 구성한 공간에 HEV 모델과 EV 모델을 전시하는 동시에 니로를 통한 즐거운 경험을 주제로 만든 영상을 상영해 고객들에게 특별한 차량 체험의 기회를 제공한다.

신형 니로는 2022년 1분기에 하이브리드 모델을 출시하고, 상반기에 전기차 모델을 출시할 예정이다.

현대자동차는 다목적차량(MPV)인 스타리아 라운지의 리무진과 캠퍼 모델을 19일(화) 출시했다고 밝혔다.

비즈니스 밴으로서 새로운 가치를 제공할 리무진 모델과 캠핑에 최적화된 캠퍼 모델을 내세워 현대자동차는 다인승 모빌리티 시장을 견인한다는 계획이다.

 

■ 고급스러운 디자인과 높은 공간 활용성을 갖춘 스타리아 라운지 리무진

쾌적한 실내 공간을 위해 초미세먼지 및 실내 유해가스 정화 기능을 갖춘 빌트인 공기청정기를 장착했으며, 밤하늘의 빛나는 별을 형상화한 스태리 스카이 무드조명으로 감성적인 실내 분위기를 조성했다. 아울러 ▲중앙등 ▲무드등 ▲2/3열LED 독서등을 활용해 탑승객이 원하는 실내 분위기를 다양하게 연출할 수 있다.

외장 컬러는 크리미 화이트, 어비스 블랙 펄 등 2가지 중 선택 가능하며 내장은 그레이 단일 컬러로 운영된다.

스타리아 라운지 캠퍼는 스타리아 라운지 프레스티지 트림에 캠핑을 위한 최적화된 사양들을 대거 적용한 캠핑카 모델로, 다목적차량으로도 이용 가능한 세미 타입 캠퍼 11(11인승)과 디럭스 타입 캠퍼 4(4인승) 등 2가지로 출시됐다.

캠퍼의 전동식 팝업루프는 곡선을 통해 공기역학적인 디자인을 적용하고 차체와 동일한 소재를 사용해 일체감을 준다. 또한 루프를 위로 들어 올리면 성인 2명이 취침할 수 있는 공간으로 활용 가능하고, 실내 램프와 매트리스가 마련돼 있어 안락한 공간을 연출한다.

우측 어닝(차양막) 시스템은 공간을 확장해 사용할 수 있게 해주며 어닝 내부에 장착한 LED 조명은 야간 편의성을 높여준다.

전동으로 시트 각도 조절이 가능한 2열 풀 플랫 시트를 통해 취침 공간을 만드는 것도 가능하다.

외장 컬러는 크리미 화이트와 어비스 블랙 펄 중 선택할 수 있으며 내장은 캠퍼 11에 블랙 모노톤, 캠퍼 4에 브라운 컬러를 적용했다.

엔진은 2.0 4기통 하나입니다. 최고출력 147마력이고, 최대토크는 4,500rpm에서 132 lb.-ft까지 냅니다. 개성적인 외모에 비해 파워트레인은 좀 올드하네요.

IRVINE, Calif., May 4, 2022 – The new 2023 Kia Soul, arriving later this summer, features refreshed design elements inside and out, a simplified lineup, new smile-inducing colors, and two option packages brimming with technology and convenience. Soul redefined the boxy small-car segment when it was first launched in 2009 and has evolved steadily since, appealing to customers across generations with its edgy good looks, practicality, and efficiency. Pricing will be announced closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date.

“The Soul defined a whole new segment of small cars when it first entered the Kia lineup and it continues into the 2023 model year with as much fun, practicality and style as ever,” said Steve Center, COO & EVP, Kia America. “The basic form remains, which is what more than 75,000 happy Soul owners loved so much about the funky runabout last year, representing a nearly 5 percent increase over sales in 2020. The new 2023 Soul is set to continue that trend with its refreshed design inside and out, advanced technology and feature-packed trims.” 

Soul has always been set apart by its bold yet functional design and the 2023 model year continues that tradition with an all-new front fascia. The new grill is set off with available LED headlights and redesigned fog lights. New Daytime Running Lamps and turn signals round out the front-end redesign. New available 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels and a redesigned rear fascia and taillights complete the exterior enhancements. A multitude of solid and two-tone exterior paint schemes remain and are complemented by new two-tone paint programs: Clear White with Fusion Black roof, and Surf Blue with a Fusion Black roof.

Inside, what worked best remains and what has changed has made a good thing better. Logically placed switchgear falls readily to-hand while the 10.25-inch (standard on all but LX trim) touchscreen with navigation is a welcome addition to the tech-forward cabin.

Simplifying the lineup for 2023, the Soul is offered in LX, S, EX, GT-Line, GT-Line Tech trimlines, each featuring a long list of standard and available equipment. The X-Line and Turbo have been discontinued, although many of the features are found in the new variants. The new LX Technology Package includes Blind Spot Collision Avoidance (BCA), Rear Cross Collision Avoidance (RCCA), and 16-inch alloy wheels; neatly bundling sought-after features in an already well-equipped offer.

The GT-Line Technology Package ups the ante with a wide range of sought-after features and driver-assist systems. A Harman/Kardon premium audio is accessed through the 10.25-inch color touchscreen and features an external amplifier, subwoofer, and door-mounted tweeters. Multi-colored LED speaker lights pulse in time with the tunes and the heated front seats offer a warm embrace during cold-weather drives.  The GT-Line Technology Package also includes:

롤스로이스모터카가 현지 시각으로 5월 12일 팬텀 시리즈 II(Phantom Series II)를 전세계 최초 공개했다.

롤스로이스 팬텀은 1925년 처음 등장한 이래 탁월한 기술력과 시간을 초월하는 디자인, 최고급 럭셔리에 대한 깊은 이해를 바탕으로 ‘세계 최고의 차(The Best Car in the World)’라는 명성을 누려왔다. 이번에 선보이는 팬텀 시리즈 II는 지난 2017년 첫 선을 보인 이후 출시되는 부분변경 모델로, 최소한의 변화를 요구한 고객들의 의견을 반영한 ‘라이트 터치’ 디자인과 최첨단 편의 기능이 탑재된 것이 특징이다.

8세대 팬텀 시리즈 II는 최소한의 변화로 미적 요소를 향상시켰다. 먼저 전면부 판테온 그릴 상단과 주간 주행등 사이에 세련된 수평선을 추가해 신선하면서 모던한 분위기를 연출했으며, 그릴에 섬세하고 기하학적인 변형을 줌으로써 롤스로이스의 상징인 ‘RR’ 배지와 환희의 여신상을 더욱 돋보이게 했다. 여기에 마치 별빛처럼 복잡한 레이저 컷 베젤이 적용된 헤드라이트를 탑재해 어두운 밤에도 압도적인 존재감을 뿜어낸다.

차량의 측면을 완성하는 휠 세트는 두 가지 형태로 제공된다. 3D 밀링 기법으로 제작된 스테인리스 스틸 휠을 전체 또는 부분 광택으로 주문하거나 1920년대 롤스로이스의 낭만을 떠올리게 하는 디스크 휠을 선택할 수 있다. 광택 스테인리스 스틸로 제작된 디스크 휠은 블랙 래커로 마감해 마치 지상 위를 비행을 하고 있는 듯한 느낌을 선사한다.

팬텀의 호화로운 실내는 그대로 유지하되, 직접 운전을 선호하는 고객층이 나날이 증가함에 따라 미세하게 두꺼워진 스티어링 휠이 장착됐다. 새로운 스티어링 휠은 차량과 운전자가 연결된 느낌을 강화하면서 더욱 즉각적인 반응을 전달한다.

팬텀 시리즈 II에는 ‘롤스로이스 커넥티드(Rolls-Royce Connected)’ 기능이 탑재된다. 롤스로이스 전용 멤버십 애플리케이션 ‘위스퍼스’와 호환 가능한 롤스로이스 커넥티드는 위스퍼스 내 주소와 정보 등을 차량으로 바로 전송할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 해당 애플리케이션에서 차량 상태, 위치 및 보안 등 각종 정보를 실시간으로 확인할 수 있으며, 버튼 하나만 누르면 원하는 전시장으로 연결되어 차량 관련 서비스나 차량에 대해 쉽고 빠르게 문의할 수 있다.

한편, 롤스로이스는 팬텀 시리즈 II의 출시를 기념하기 위해 비스포크 모델 팬텀 플래티노(Phantom Platino)를 제작했다. 새로운 비스포크 걸작인 팬텀 플래티노는 백금(Platinum)의 은백색 마감에서 이름을 따왔다.

팬텀 플래티노는 소재에 대한 롤스로이스의 탐구 정신이 여실히 드러나는 모델이다. 차량의 뒷좌석과 실내 곳곳은 최고급 가죽이 아닌 두 가지 다른 직물로 마감됐다. 이탈리아 모직 공장에서 생산된 직물은 내구성이 높으면서도 고급스러움을 자랑한다.

비단처럼 부드러운 직물은 팬텀 갤러리와 암레스트, 센터 콘솔 등 승객의 시선이 머무는 곳을 장식한다. 촘촘하고 탄력 있는 대나무 섬유는 압력을 견뎌야 하는 실내 하부 공간에 적용됐다. 환희의 여신상을 추상적으로 재해석한 패턴이 들어간 두 직물은 동일한 색상의 다른 색조를 매치하는 톤온톤(tone on tone) 배색으로 편안하고 아름다운 실내 분위기를 연출한다.

Bentley is bringing a new focus on wellness to its model range with the launch of the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase – a new grand touring SUV that builds on the strengths of the Bentayga to become a new luxury flagship, extending the latest product range to five models.

So much more than just a stretch, the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is the result of a nine-figure investment by Bentley to create a new model that provides the best rear cabin experience since a Mulsanne, whilst retaining the Bentley hallmarks of effortless performance, exquisite handcraftsmanship and endless personalisation.

The success of the Bentayga defined and enabled the growth of the luxury SUV market since the first unveiling in 2015. Over the last seven years, the Bentayga has proved its credibility through genuine off-road capability, hybrid technology, record-breaking performance, and bespoke specifications. The Bentayga remains Bentley’s best-selling model, and has become the benchmark against which other luxury SUVs are measured. The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase once again redefines the zenith.

In 2021, Bentley achieved record sales of 14,659 cars, a 31% growth over the previous best from 2020 - and the Bentayga accounted for just over a third of this volume. The global luxury SUV market continues to expand, with the forecast increasing towards the end of the decade across all regions. However, this is not the same for the E-segment, which has been declining. The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase has the potential to raise the ceiling of the D-segment, as one of the spiritual successors to the Mulsanne.

Feedback from Bentley customers is that design, technology and performance are the three most important factors on the decision to purchase, with the driving characteristics being the top priority amongst current owners. In a recent survey, owners also confirmed that 82% of them use their luxury SUVs daily, 74% in cities and urban environments. The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase stretches the class-leading SUV’s breadth of ability even further whether you are driving or being driven.

The Extended Wheelbase will be responsible for up to 45% of all Bentayga sales when the car goes on sale later this year. The Bentayga will therefore remain Bentley’s number one model, and the most successful and in-demand luxury SUV in the world.

Introduction to the Bentayga EWB
The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) builds on the latest second-generation Bentayga, extending the wheelbase and rear cabin space by an extra 180 mm. With Body-in-White changes to the underfloor, side panels, door and roof, Bentley’s design team have ensured the lines and proportions continue to exude style and presence. This increase results in the wheelbase of the car stretching from 2995 mm to 3175 mm, with an overall length of 5322 mm. The increased length is all in the rear door, creating an exceptionally luxurious rear cabin area. With a larger cabin space than any other luxury competitor, an emphasis on wellness, and the introduction of the world’s first auto climate and advanced postural adjustment rear seat, extraordinary journeys are guaranteed.

The new Bentley Airline Seat specification is the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car, with 22-ways of adjustment and world-firsts in a new auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology.

In Relax mode, the seat can recline to 40 degrees, whilst the passenger seat is motored forwards and a beautifully leather-trimmed footrest deploys from the back of the front passenger seat. In Business Mode, the seat moves into its most upright position to make working on the move more comfortable.

The auto climate seat technology senses occupant temperature and surface humidity and then determines whether to apply heat, ventilation or both simultaneously to keep the occupant at optimum thermal wellbeing. Meanwhile, the postural adjustment system automatically makes micro adjustments to the occupant’s seating position and pressure points, by measuring pressure across the seat surface. The system can apply 177 individual pressure changes across six fully independent pressure zones over a three-hour period improving comfort and minimising fatigue throughout a journey.

The Bentayga EWB incorporates a more advanced stitching design created using digital craftsmanship. Diamonds can be seen elongating symmetrically from the centre of the seatbacks shoulder panels and along the length of the door, reflecting the extension in the car itself.

The new interior style of the rear door also includes a unique design showcasing the optional ‘Metal Overlay in Veneer’. Using a thin metal strip just 0.07 mm thick, an intricate design is bonded by hand on the surface of the veneer before the part is lacquered and polished.

New features like Bentley Diamond Illumination (where light is emitted through small perforations in the soft feel door trim) demonstrate how technology combines with contemporary craftsmanship to deliver incredibly modern design in luxurious materials. With 24 billion trim combinations alone (and a total number of possible specifications running into the trillions), the cabin of the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is capable of offering the most individual Bentayga ever.

The introduction of Electronic All Wheel Steering, a first for the Bentayga, ensures that there is no shortfall of dynamic ability despite the longer wheelbase. In fact, the turning circle is 7% less than a standard Bentayga, at just 11.8 metres. This also guarantees no compromise between high-speed confidence and low speed convenience.

Bentley Dynamic Ride, the 48V active anti-roll control system introduced originally by Bentayga as a world-first, is included as standard and provides the optimum balance between ultimate ride comfort, handling and body control.

Comfort and Wellness in Detail
The Bentayga EWB offers the ultimate in rear passenger indulgence, with the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car, three different seat configurations, new dual air ionisers and increased cabin space.

As standard, a 4+1 seating configuration is offered with two outer rear seats providing outstanding comfort, 16 ways of adjustment, heating, ventilation and five individual massage programs. There is an occasional middle seat, easily accommodating a third adult and giving access to a ski hatch in the backboard.

A new feature with the larger cabin is the Bentley Airline Seat Specification. To enable maximum relaxation in the back, the seat backrests recline to 40 degrees, providing an ideal and comfortable position to sleep in.

The level of seat recline can be controlled through the Touch Screen Remote – Bentley’s dedicated handheld touchscreen device for controlling vehicle functions from the rear cabin. Additional switches are located in the door pocket area to set the seat to maximum recline (Relax Mode) or in its most upright position (Business Mode).

In Relax Mode, the front passenger seat will traverse to its most forward position in order to maximise the space available to the rear occupant. Additionally, a footrest – beautifully trimmed in carpet and leather and surrounded with a chrome strip – will deploy from the front passenger seat back.

Bentley Airline Seat Specification also includes four significant features including a world technology first:

  • With Seat Auto Climate, a passenger selects their desired temperature setpoint from six different levels. The contact temperature and surface humidity are then directly measured – cushion and backrest independently – and the heating and ventilation are adjusted to achieve the required temperature. This is continuously monitored to ensure it remains constant as optimised body temperature is vital when the focus is on individual wellbeing. In studies that have manipulated body temperature via external means, it has generally been reported that cognitive function is reduced by decreasing body temperature below normal [Wright, Hull and Ceizler 2002]. A comfortable thermal environment can also alleviate fatigue, reduce irritability, and improve driving safety [Szczurek & Maciejewska 2016]
  • The Postural Adjustment function uses new thigh and shoulder pockets, plus additional lumbar massage pockets, to subtly yet continuously change the shape of the seat to ease pressure points around the body, preventing dead spots and fatigue build up. There are three different programmes available, ‘All areas of the seat’, ‘Twist’ and ‘Backrest only’. The use of air pockets enables more continuous and complex movements to be made – which are virtually imperceptible to the passenger – rather than the linear movements resulting from the use of seat motors. The system goes beyond the 2D motions typical of adjustable seats, able to employ a three-dimensional twist to relieve pressure points. Six independent pressure zones can provide 177 adjustments every three hours to ensure that seat comfort is never compromised, regardless of the length of the journey. Studies have shown that actively supporting body weight in a dynamic way relieves strain, which can prime mental stress and create lack of focus. Natural supported postures have been shown to alleviate stress from tensed muscles.
  • The Bentley Airline Seat Specification also adds further cushion and backrest bolster adjustment, cushion extension, electric headrest height adjustment and a deployable footrest to the back of the front passenger seat. The rear seat passenger on this side of the car can also move the front passenger seat forwards via a “VIP mode”.
  • New for the Bentayga EWB are heated rear door and centre armrests, adding a level of detail entirely befitting of the most luxurious SUV cabin in the world.

Other configurations include a Four Seat Comfort Specification and a Five Seat option for those wanting the ability to fold down the rear backrests. A seven seat configuration is available in the standard Bentayga, however customer feedback showed that space and luxury remain a priority for the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase owners.

With the Four Seat Comfort Specification, a rear centre console between the two rear seats provides additional stowage and two further USB charging sockets. The Mulliner Console Bottle Cooler can also be chosen, housing a fully integrated drinks cooler for a 750 ml bottle, and two handcrafted Cumbria Crystal Flutes.

The heating, ventilation and air conditioning system in the rear cabin has been enhanced to further improve onboard wellness. The rear ventilation activates only when rear occupants are detected, reducing rear cabin fan noise. The rear cabin has a separate air ionisation system that improves air quality with lower airborne particulates.  The ionisers create a static charge around pollutants such as dust or allergens in the air, which in turn cause them to stick to the nearest surface. The result is the removal of such contaminants from the air that the occupants breathe.

Interior Design – Crafted Detail with Seamless Technology
The rear cabin of the Bentayga EWB sets a new benchmark for combining world-class luxury and technological innovation, demonstrating new heights of craftsmanship and comfort.

Bentley’s instantly recognisable diamond quilting has been reimagined in a dramatic and contemporary new design. Like all great design, the final execution looks simple, but the obsession to detail behind it encapsulates all that is unique about Bentley interiors.

Developed and executed through a combination of digital craftsmanship and precision technology, the symmetrical pattern at the top of the seat backs stretches the diamonds as they move away from the centre line of the seats. The doors, in turn, boast an asymmetric pattern, that accentuates the length of the door and the rear cabin as a whole.

Within each diamond, the flawless leather is perforated with holes of less than 1 mm diameter. Each hole has been digitally positioned with precision by one of Bentley’s interior designers to achieve a cohesive overall design – the ‘digital-crafting’ process.

Once the leather has gone through a perforating machine, the stitching of the diamonds is achieved with a specialised embroidery machine. The machine incorporates a camera which analyses the perforation pattern and ensures the lines of embroidery are perfectly parallel and equidistant between the perforation diamonds. The finished result is a beautiful, elegant and unique design.

To achieve a softer panel, with delicate, luxurious form language, a finer thread (usually found in Bentley’s embroidered logos) and  a smaller micro-stitch (half the length of a standard Bentley stitch) has been used. This change of thread and innovation of manufacturing process has created a more accentuated, softly lofted quilting, in a way Bentley has never done before in production. This process is exactly the same as the quilting process showcased on the doors and seats of the EXP 100 GT concept car from 2019.

Enhancing the rear cabin area further, the longer door trim panels have been redesigned. The veneer panel has been lowered and extended, and it sweeps down to meet the armrest incorporating the rear door handle.

Bentayga EWB will see the first use of the Metal Overlay in Veneer feature on Bentayga series production, having previously been used on the pinnacle Continental GT Mulliner derivatives. This optional feature is included on the passenger’s fascia panel and on all four doors. The intricate design consists of individual brushed metal badges crafted to be exceptionally thin - just and 0.07 mm thick.

To create the inlay designs, a process called photo-etching is used. A very fine stencil of the design is laminated to the metal. After some intermediate steps of UV light exposure and developing of the laminate, the main process chemically etches away areas of metal not required, leaving only the inlay design. Etching means there is little manual handling or cutting of the material so the risk of damage is less and the precision that can be achieved is incredibly high. Each badge is then bonded by hand in a precise location on the surface of the veneer, before the part is lacquered and polished.

A further striking and elegant optional feature introduced for Bentayga EWB is Bentley Diamond Illumination. The illumination effect is achieved using LEDs (12 on each of the front doors, 22 on each of the rear doors) that emit light through small perforations 1 mm in diameter in the leather trim on the door panels.

The intensity and colour of the illumination through the trim can be controlled by the customer through the infotainment system and Touch Screen Remote. The feature is linked with the mood lighting to ensure consistent colour and intensity of light throughout the car. This dramatic feature can transform the interior feel and look of the cabin, especially at night.

With the increased cabin length, the front centre console has been redesigned to provide better ergonomics and functionality for the rear passengers. The rear face of the console has been extended for improved interaction with the touch screen remote, the addition of a wireless charging cradle for a mobile phone and a new air vent design.

For the first time on a Bentley, power closing doors can be specified. Two switches are located on the rear face of the extended centre console, comfortably within the reach of rear passengers. Pressing and holding the switch will close the door on the corresponding side of the vehicle using dedicated motors, creating a truly luxurious valet-like experience. The motors also engage with a light manual push on the door, for a fully integrated motion with the power latching mechanism. The motors also offer gentle assistance when opening the door.

Fitted as standard to the EWB are new ‘waterfall illumination’ interior lamps providing subtle illumination to the rear cabin. The illumination is focused towards the centre of car, and improves the passenger’s visibility of the key central controls and features. The subtle illumination provides a comfortable ambient light to the rear enhancing the feeling of luxury for the rear passengers.

Exterior Design – Zero Comprimise
Four detailed exterior changes mark the new model: the longer profile, a new front grille, a new polished 22” 10-spoke wheel, and a repositioned sunroof, all whilst deliberately maintaining the highly successful second-generation Bentayga aesthetic.

Taking inspiration from the new grille on the Flying Spur, the Bentayga EWB has a ‘Vertical Vane Grille’ design that remains elegant while being visually striking. The unique grille consists of bright chrome vertical vanes sitting in front of a black mesh grille. The 22-inch 10-spoke Bentayga wheel is offered in a new mirror-polished design for the Bentayga EWB.

The repositioned panoramic sunroof illustrates again the focus on the rear cabin ambience and ensures the experience is uncompromised. The sunroof has therefore been moved rearwards in the car by 125 mm, providing the optimum position to bathe the rear cabin seating area in natural light. The sunroof can be controlled via the rear cabin Touch Screen Remote, as well as by the front cabin console.

The 180 mm wheelbase increase results in a wonderfully airy and spacious rear cabin and gives the opportunity to provide a significant increase in rear legroom.

The class-leading new cabin has is longer than any other luxury SUV competitor by over 40 mm. The Bentayga EWB also provides an extra 10 mm of headroom compared to a Mulsanne, whilst having a roofline 100 mm lower than competitors providing a sporting and well-proportioned silhouette.

The result is a spacious, luxurious, light-filled cabin, exhibiting both Bentley’s traditional skills and the most up-to-date technology. Offering an adaptable space, excelling both as a work environment with all the latest technology within easy reach, and as a cossetting, relaxing haven.

The noise of traffic and the on-road world outside the car has a serious effect on wellbeing. Research that tracked thousands of people over a four year period found that those exposed to traffic noise over 70 decibels (db) were 65% more at risk of depression. The Bentayga EWB is quieter inside than its competitors, by between 4% and 26% depending on frequency and position inside the car.

Chassis and Powertain
The new Bentayga has won critical acclaim for its dynamic abilities, with its performance on the road and its ride and handling universally praised. The Bentayga EWB continues this ethos with the inclusion of Electronic All Wheel Steering and Bentley Dynamic Ride as standard.

Secondary ride comfort is another key variable that affects onboard wellness – the smoother the ride, the more calming the journey. At typical road speeds and in the crucial frequency range of 5 Hz to 20 Hz, the Bentayga EWB has up 27% lower secondary ride vibration than its competitors.

Electronic All Wheel Steering was first introduced by Bentley on the new Flying Spur. It provides two highly desirable benefits and ensures no compromise between high-speed confidence and low speed convenience.

At fast, highway speeds the system makes small adjustments to the direction of travel of the rear wheels, in tandem with the direct steering inputs from the driver to the front wheels. This increases high-speed stability – making overtaking and lane changing more assured – and improves handling when driving through sweeping bends.

At low speeds, the All Wheel Steering has the effect of ‘shortening’ the wheelbase, reducing the turning circle, and increasing agility in tight urban environments making parking noticeably easier. This is achieved by steering the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels. The system actually provides a turning circle which is smaller than that of the standard wheelbase Bentayga by 7%.

The Bentayga EWB is powered by Bentley’s proven 4.0-litre, 32-valve dual twin-scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine, which combines immense power with impressive fuel economy. Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the V8 offers supercar performance, developing 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft (770 Nm) of torque, resulting in a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) and 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds (100 km/h in 4.6 seconds).

Testing and Development
Over 2,500 new parts have been introduced to produce the Bentayga EWB including significant Body-in-White changes and a complete new underfloor. This has led to new manufacturing processes, layout changes and infrastructure specifically for the new model. With over 50 pre-series vehicles, nearly 2,000 weeks of collective testing have been incurred in the development of the new Bentayga EWB to give its exceptional credentials.

Enhanced Specification
Two enhanced specifications of Bentayga Extended Wheelbase will be available at launch. The Azure offers elegant and timeless design with unique signatures, focusing on maximum comfort and well-being with an effortless drive. Unique specification includes a unique 22” ten-spoke directional wheel, bright lower bumper grilles, Azure embroidery and badging. Other additional features include unique quilted seats, mood lighting, heated steering wheel, and increased driver’s assistance aids.

The First Edition specification builds further, including Bentley Diamond Illumination, metal overlays in the veneer, Naim for Bentley Premium Audio and LED welcome lamps. Unique embroidery, inlays and badging identify this as a highly exclusive and distinct model.

랜드로버가 영국에 위치한 재규어 랜드로버의 ‘게이든 첨단 제품 개발 센터(Gaydon Product Creation Centre)’에서 한층 더 모던한 디자인과 파워풀한 주행 성능으로 스포츠 럭셔리를 재정의하는 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠를 세계 최초로 공개했다.  

이번 세계 최초 공개 행사에서 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 물에 잠긴 댐 방수로를 타고 오르는 극적인 장면을 연출하며 글로벌 무대에 등장했다. 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 아이슬란드에 있는 세계 최대 길이의 방수로를 갖춘 댐인 카우라흐뉴카르 댐(Karahnjukar Dam)에서 분당 750톤의 물이 쏟아지는 가운데 294m 길이의 방수로를 따라 흐르는 급류에 저항하며 40도의 가파른 경사를 거슬러 오르는 데 성공했다. 구동력을 잃는 순간 90m 아래로 추락할 수 있는 위험천만한 도전이었다.

제임스 본드 영화의 공식 스턴트 드라이버인 제시카 호킨스(Jessica Hawkins)는 이번 도전을 통해 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠의 접지력, 구동력, 성능, 안정성을 성공적으로 시연해 럭셔리 스포츠 SUV로서의 놀라운 성능을 증명했다. 레인지로버 스포츠는 기록적인 높이의 파이크스 피크(Pikes Peak) 신기록 등반, 아라비아 반도의 엠티 쿼터(Empty Quarter) 사막 최초 횡단, 중국 천문산의 999 계단 최초 등정에 도전해 성공한 바 있다.

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 주행거리가 연장된 플러그인 하이브리드(PHEV), 마일드 하이브리드(MHEV) 시스템이 적용된 I6 인제니움 가솔린 및 디젤 엔진, 최신 V8 트윈 터보 엔진 등 다양한 파워트레인 라인업으로 역대 모델 중 가장 역동적인 성능을 제공한다. 이와 더불어 2024년 순수전기(BEV) 모델을 출시해 극적인 현대성과 고유의 개성을 전동화 성능과 결합해 선보일 예정이다.

모던 럭셔리 디자인  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠의 매끈한 표면, 역동적인 스탠스, 한눈에 알아볼 수 있는 프로파일로 완성된 육감적인 비율은 금방이라도 폭발적인 성능을 선보일 것 같은 준비된 인상을 준다. 이러한 드라마틱한 비율은 레인지로버 스포츠만의 독특한 캐릭터를 더욱 돋보이게 한다. 이와 더불어 짧은 오버행, 날렵한 그릴과 헤드라이트에서 표현되는 당당한 프론트 엔드, 전면과 후면의 가파르게 경사진 윈드스크린 등 레인지로버 스포츠의 트레이드 마크 디자인 요소들은 도로 위에서 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠의 압도적인 존재감을 과시한다.  

조각한 듯한 외관은 스탤스 디자인의 프론트 그릴, 크리스털처럼 빛나는 시그니처 주간 주행등(DRL)을 구성하는 디지털 LED 헤드라이트 등 정교한 마감으로 더욱 특별하게 완성됐다. 블랙 디테일이 강조된 하부 범퍼 위에 위치한 랜드로버 역사상 가장 슬림한 헤드라이트는 차체 전면부를 수평으로 이등분하며 차량을 시각적으로 더 넓어 보이게 하는 효과를 준다.  

완벽하게 다듬어진 디자인 요소들은 리어에서 레인지로버 로고와 함께 차체 너비에 맞춰 조각한 듯한 모습의 테일게이트와 어우러져 다시 한번 강조된다. 끊임없이 이어지는 LED 리어라이트 그래픽은 양산차 최초로 표면 LED(Surface LED) 기술이 적용돼 한밤중 어느 각도에서도 선명하고 일관성 있는 현대적인 모습을 선사한다. 숄더 라인은 차체 전체에 걸쳐 길게 이어지며, 새로워진 하부 펜더 디테일과 레인지로버 라인업 중 가장 긴 스포일러로 인해 더욱 돋보인다.

이음새 없이 간결하고 아름답게 마감된 플러시 글레이징과 플러시 도어 핸들, 히든 웨이스트 레일 피니셔, 레이저로 용접된 루프 등 미니멀리즘 디자인 철학이 반영된 마감 기술은 정밀하고 세련된 익스테리어를 완성한다. 이러한 공기역학적인 디자인을 바탕으로 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠의 항력 계수는 0.29Cd에 불과하다
 
새로 출시되는 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 다이내믹(Dynamic) 모델은 더욱 날렵한 인상을 자아내는 실외 디자인 요소를 통해 고성능 SUV의 목적에 걸맞은 특성을 강조한다. 새틴 그레이(Satin Grey) 알로이 휠은 보닛의 루브르와 측면 잉곳에 적용한 새틴 버니시드 코퍼(Satin Burnished Copper) 피니시와 조화를 이룬다. 또한, 독특한 프론트 및 리어 범퍼와 비스포크 하부 클래딩(Cladding)을 차체와 같은 색상으로, 레인지로버 로고를 매트 그래파이트 아틀라스(Matte Graphite Atlas) 색상으로 마감하며 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠의 역동성을 가장 극적으로 표현해냈다.

재규어 랜드로버의 최고 크리에이티브 책임자(Chief Creative Officer) 제리 맥거번(Gerry McGovern)은 “올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 의심할 여지없이 스포티하고 자신감 넘치는 특성을 극대화하는 동시에 랜드로버만의 궁극적인 모던 럭셔리 디자인을 완벽하게 구현한 모델”이라고 말했다. 

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠의 정교하고 럭셔리한 디자인은 완전히 새로운 인테리어 디자인과 연결된다. 랜드로버의 트레이드 마크인 커맨드 드라이빙 포지션(Command Driving Position)은 조종석과 유사한 콕핏 구조로 새롭게 해석됐으며, 운전자에게 몰입감 넘치는 주행 환경을 제공해 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠만의 스포티함을 더욱 강조한다. 더불어 역대 최대 사이즈의 13.1인치 커브드 플로팅 모니터가 장착됐으며, 최고급 윈저(Windsor) 및 부드러운 세미 아닐린(Semi Aniline) 가죽 옵션을 제공한다. 여기에 적용된 문라이트 크롬(Moonlight Chrome) 피니시는 현대적이며 퍼포먼스에 특화된 실내 분위기에 완성도를 더한다.

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 랜드로버의 차세대 MLA-Flex 플랫폼을 기반으로 제작됐으며, 이 차체 구조는 탁월한 역동성과 더할 나위 없는 정교함을 위한 완벽한 기반을 제공한다. MLA-Flex 플랫폼은 이전 모델보다 최대 35% 더 향상된 33,000Nm/deg의 비틀림 강성을 제공하며, 통합 섀시 컨트롤 시스템(Integrated Chassis Control System)을 통해 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠만을 위해 특별 조정된 일련의 시스템과 조화를 이루도록 통합 제어가 가능하다. 이를 통해 본능에 가까울 정도로 뛰어난 반응성과 민첩성을 제공한다.  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 모든 모델에는 전환 가능한 볼륨 에어 스프링(Switchable Volume Air Springs)이 최초로 도입된 다이내믹 에어 서스펜션(Dynamic Air Suspension)이 장착됐다. 이 지능형 시스템은 서스펜션 챔버 내의 압력을 변화시켜 서스펜션 강도의 변화폭을 높임으로써 레인지로버 특유의 고품격 승차감과 레인지로버 스포츠 고유의 다이내믹한 핸들링을 동시에 제공한다. 또한 응답성을 최적화하기 위해 e호라이즌(eHorizon) 내비게이션 데이터를 사용하여 전방 도로를 모니터링하고, 차량이 전방의 커브에 선제적으로 대비할 수 있도록 한다.  

새로운 다이내믹 리스폰스 프로(Dynamic Response Pro)는 최신 다이내믹 에어 서스펜션과 함께 작동한다. 최신 전자식 롤 컨트롤 시스템(eARC)을 기반으로 최대 1,400Nm의 토크를 각 액슬에 가하여 자신감 있는 주행과 수준 높은 차체 제어 및 코너링 안정성을 제공한다. 이와 함께 적용되는 어댑티브 다이내믹스 2(Adaptive Dynamics 2) 기술은 노면의 상태를 초당 500회 모니터링하며 댐퍼 설정을 지속적으로 최적화해 불필요한 차체 움직임을 줄이고 날카로운 핸들링과 다이내믹한 드라이빙을 가능하게 한다.

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 올 휠 스티어링(All Wheel Steering)과 제동 기반의 토크 벡터링 시스템을 포함한 전자식 액티브 디퍼런셜(Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking)을 통해 새로운 차원의 코너링 성능을 보장한다. 올 휠 스티어링 기능으로 후방 차축을 최대 7.3도로 조향할 수 있으며, 저속 및 고속 주행에 따라 전후방 차축의 회전 방향을 다르게 조정함으로써 민첩성과 기동성, 탁월한 안정성을 모두 발휘한다. 이를 통해 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 소형 해치백 수준의 회전 직경과 민첩한 온로드 주행 성능을 제공한다.  

새롭게 적용된 스토머 핸들링 팩(Stormer Handling Pack)은 섀시 기술을 궁극적으로 조합해 가장 역동적이고 민첩한 핸들링을 선사하며, 다이내믹 리스폰스 프로, 올 휠 스티어링, 토크 벡터링 시스템을 포함한 전자식 액티브 디퍼런셜, 설정 가능한 프로그램(Configurable Programme) 등으로 구성된다. 스토머 핸들링 팩은 P530 및 P510e 모델에 기본으로 탑재된다.  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 8단 ZF 자동변속기와 최신 인텔리전트 사륜구동(iAWD) 시스템을 통해 차량의 주행 상황과 접지력을 초당 100회 모니터링함으로써 각 액슬에 최적의 토크를 예측하고 분배한다. 이를 통해 어떤 조건에서도 가장 효율적인 주행이 가능하도록 돕고 연비를 최적화한다.  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 오프로드 환경에서도 완벽한 퍼포먼스를 발휘한다. 랜드로버 최초로 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠에 도입된 어댑티브 오프로드 크루즈 컨트롤(Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control)은 4가지 컴포트 주행 모드를 설정할 수 있으며, 다양한 알고리즘에 따라 차체의 틸팅, 롤링, 피칭, 그리고 요잉을 자동으로 분석해 차량의 최적 주행 속도를 측정하고 이를 유지하도록 돕는다. 이를 통해 운전자는 어떠한 오프로드 환경에서도 차량의 안정성, 제어력, 그리고 승차감을 보장받으며 스티어링 휠 조작에만 집중할 수 있다.  

랜드로버의 특허 기술인 최신 전자동 지형 반응 시스템®2 (Terrain Response® 2)는 노면 상태와 지형을 파악해 주행 상황에 맞는 최적의 차체 세팅을 제공하며 이를 피비 프로(PIVI Pro) 인포테인먼트 시스템을 통해 운전자에게 안내한다. 더불어 다이내믹 에어 서스펜션을 통해 도전적인 오프로드 상황에서도 135mm까지 지상고를 높일 수 있으며, 900mm의 깊이까지 도강이 가능하다.  

성능과 효율 겸비한 파워트레인 라인업

재규어 랜드로버 전동화 ‘리이매진’ 전략의 핵심인 MLA-Flex 플랫폼은 특유의 유연함을 기반으로 다양한 파워트레인을 장착할 수 있도록 설계됐다. 이를 바탕으로 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 라인업에는 주행거리를 연장한 플러그인 하이브리드(PHEV) 모델과 마일드 하이브리드 시스템(MHEV)이 적용된 I6 인제니움 가솔린 및 디젤 엔진 모델, 완전히 새로워진 V8 트윈 터보 모델이 포함된다. 2024년에는 순수 전기차(BEV) 모델을 추가함으로써 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 라인업을 확장한다.  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 P510e PHEV 모델은 WLTP 기준 100km 이상을 탄소 배출 없이 주행할 수 있으며 랜드로버의 3.0L I6 인제니움 가솔린 엔진과 강력한 105kW 전기 모터, 38.2kWh 배터리가 결합해 510PS의 최고 출력과 700Nm의 최대 토크를 자랑하고 0-100km/h 가속 시간은 5.4초에 불과하다. WLTP 기준 최대 전기 주행거리는 113km, 실제 예상 주행거리는 88km, CO2 배출량은 18g/km이다. 이를 통해 모든 여정의 약 75%는 전기로만 주행이 가능하다. PHEV 파워트레인은 장거리 주행 시 가솔린 엔진과 결합해 총 740km 주행이 가능하다.  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 가솔린 라인업의 정점이라 할 수 있는 P530 모델에는 새로운 V8 트윈 터보 엔진이 탑재돼 첨단 섀시 기술의 활용을 극대화한 감각적인 드라이빙 경험을 제공한다. 4.4리터 트윈 터보 V8 엔진은 530PS의 최고 출력을 자랑하며, 다이내믹 런치를 활성화한 상태에서의 0-100km/h 가속 시간은 4.5초에 불과하다. 매력적인 엔진 사운드와 함께 고성능 SUV 진가를 느낄 수 있는 V8 엔진은 기존 모델 대비 17% 향상된 연비와 함께 더욱 강렬한 드라이빙 경험을 위해 20% 높아진 토크를 제공한다.  

이 외에도 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 강력한 성능의 MHEV I6 인제니움 가솔린 엔진을 탑재한 P360, P400 모델과 D250, D300 및 D350 MHEV I6 인제니움 디젤 엔진 모델 등 다양한 선택지를 제공한다. 최신 MHEV 시스템은 엔진 보조용 교류 발전기를 대신하는 BiSG(Belt-integrated Starter Generator)와 차량 감속 시 에너지를 회수해 저장하기 위한 48V 리튬 이온 배터리로 구성된다. BiSG는 스톱-스타트 시스템의 빠른 응답성과 정교한 작동을 보장해주며, 가속 시 엔진에 추가적인 지원을 제공해 효율성을 향상시킨다.

스포츠 럭셔리의 대명사  

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠에 탑재된 차세대 실내 공기 정화 프로(Cabin Air Purification Pro) 시스템은 PM2.5 필터 및 nanoeTM X 기술을 통해 코로나19 바이러스를 비롯해 각종 냄새, 박테리아, 알레르기 유발 물질을 현저히 감소시킨다. 특히 nanoeTM X 시스템은 2열에도 탑재돼 차량 전체에 쾌적한 공기 상태를 유지하며, 최신 CO2 관리 기능까지 갖춰 탑승객 모두에게 최상의 웰빙을 제공한다.  

옵션으로 선택 가능한 메리디안 시그니처 사운드 시스템(Meridian Signature Sound System)은 역대 레인지로버 스포츠 모델에 탑재된 오디오 시스템 중 가장 진보된 기술과 풍요로운 사운드를 자랑한다. MLA-Flex 플랫폼 특유의 정숙성을 바탕으로 29개의 스피커와 새로운 서브우퍼 그리고 최대 1,430W의 앰프가 더해져 온 몸을 감싸는 듯한 사운드를 느낄 수 있다. 또한, 4개의 메인 시트 헤드레스트에 각각 스피커가 장착되어 있어 탑승객은 자신만의 독립적인 사운드 영역을 경험할 수 있다.

운전석과 조수석에 배치된 마사지 기능과 열선 및 통풍 기능이 추가된 22방향 조절식 전동 메모리 시트는 장거리 주행 시 피로감을 줄여주며, 머리를 편안하게 감싸주는 헤드레스트는 모든 탑승자에게 퍼스트 클래스 급의 편안함과 럭셔리한 경험을 제공한다. 인체공학적으로 최적화된 2열은 31mm 넓어진 레그룸과 20mm 여유로워진 무릎 공간으로 최상의 안락함을 선사한다.

첨단 기술로 완성한 연결성


랜드로버의 강력한 전기차 아키텍처인 EVA 2.0(Electrical Vehicle Architecture)은 SOTA(Software-Over-The-Air) 기능을 비롯한 매끄러운 커넥티드 기술 생태계를 구축한다. 이 스마트 기술을 통해 63개의 전자 모듈에 대한 원격 업데이트가 가능하며, 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠를 사용하는 동안 최첨단 기술과 서비스, 그리고 혁신을 누릴 수 있도록 보장한다.

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠 모델 최초로 수상 경력에 빛나는 피비 프로(PIVI Pro) 인포테인먼트 시스템이 탑재됐다. 직관적인 인터페이스가 특징인 피비 프로 시스템은 단 두 번의 터치만으로 90%의 기능을 사용할 수 있으며, 햅틱 피드백을 새롭게 적용해 운전자가 주행에 더욱 집중할 수 있도록 해 편의성을 높였다. 피비 프로 시스템은 모던함이 돋보이는 대시보드 중앙에 위치한 고해상도 플로팅 13.1인치 햅틱 터치스크린을 통해 사용 가능하며, 고화질 그래픽의 13.7인치 세미 플로팅 대화형 운전자 디스플레이(Interactive Driver Display)과 함께 연동된다.

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠에는 빔 범위가 최대 500m에 달하는 새로운 고화질의 디지털 LED 헤드라이트를 장착했다. 각 헤드라이트 내부에 장착된 130만 개의 개별 제어가 가능한 디지털 마이크로 미러 장치(DMDs)가 차량 경로 내에서 최대 16개의 물체를 식별하고 지능적으로 빛을 차단해 다른 도로 사용자의 눈부심을 방지한다. 더불어 새로운 메누버링 라이트(Manoeuvring Lights)는 3D 서라운드 카메라 시스템과 함께 작동하며 차량 주변에 빛을 밝혀 어두운 곳에서도 안전하게 저속 주행을 할 수 있도록 돕는다.

올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠는 올 뉴 레인지로버와 마찬가지로 랜드로버의 정신적 고향이기도 한 영국 솔리헐(Solihull) 공장에서 독점 생산된다. 초기 랜드로버 시리즈가 생산됐던 역사적인 이 생산 기지는 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠와 올 뉴 레인지로버 생산을 위한 현대적인 센터로 변모되어 고유한 헤리티지를 이어간다.  

랜드로버 공식 홈페이지에서 나만의 올 뉴 레인지로버 스포츠를 구성해 볼 수 있으며, 국내 출시 모델의 세부 사양은 추후 공개될 예정이다.

익스트림 오프로드 주행용 픽업이 등장했습니다.

벤츠 스페셜리스트로 통하는 브라부스(Brabus)가 공개한 800 어드벤처 XLP 슈퍼화이트에 대한 이야기예요

 

AMG G63을 베이스로 사이즈를 키운 픽업입니다. 길이가 5.31미터에 달하며, 포탈 액슬을 적용해 지상고가 490mm 수준입니다. 사막이나 오프로드 주행에서 극강의 실력을 발휘하겠죠.

 

강인한 외모만큼이나 파워트레인도 강력합니다. 이름에서 알 수 있듯이 최고출력 800마력짜리 강심장을 품고 있어요. 최대토크는 1,000Nm에 달하고요.

 

이렇듯 강력한 파워트레인 덕분에 가속도 폭발적입니다. 제로백을 4.8초에 끝낼 수 있을 정도로요.

 

값은 6만 31,067유로(VAT 불포함)입니다. 아무가 가질 수 없는 금액이죠. 그럼에도 중동과 중국을 중심으로 인기가 높습니다.
