현대차의 고급 브랜드 제네시스가 G90을 런칭했습니다. G90은 EQ900의 페이스리프트죠. G80때처럼 페이스리프트를 하면서 이름을 G90을 정리했습니다. 차명을 북미, 중동 등 주요 럭셔리 시장과 동일하게 G90로 일원화하기로 했답니다.
제네시스는 2019년 상반기부터 미국, 캐나다, 러시아, 중동 등 시장 상황에 맞춰 G90를 순차 출시할 예정입니다. G90, G80, G70로 완성된 세단 라인업에 SUV 3종을 2021년까지 출시해 라인업을 구축할 전망입니다.

G90는 △제네시스 고유의 디자인 디테일 ‘지-매트릭스(G-Matrix)’를 비롯해 신차 수준으로 바뀐 외장 디자인 △내장 소재 고급화 및 향상된 디테일의 내장 디자인 △내비게이션 자동 무선 업데이트, 지능형 차량관리 서비스 등 최첨단 커넥티비티 △차로 유지 보조, 내비게이션 기반 스마트 크루즈 컨트롤, 후진 가이드 램프 등 첨단 주행 편의 및 안전 △공기 청정 모드, 외부 공기 유입 방지 제어 등 강화된 편의성이 특징이다.
G90는 △3.8 가솔린 △3.3 터보 가솔린 △5.0 가솔린 등 세 가지 모델로 운영된다. 판매가격은 3.8 가솔린 모델 7706만~1억995만원 3.3 터보 가솔린 모델 8099만~1억1388만원, 5.0 가솔린 모델 1억1878만원이다.
실제 G90는 혁신적으로 진화한 G90만의 디자인, 차별화된 편의성, 안전성, 주행 성능 등이 고객의 기대감에 부응하며 12일부터 11일간 실시한 사전계약을 통해 총 6713대가 계약됐다.
◇제네시스 디자인 방향성 제시, ‘역동적인 우아함(Athletic Elegance)’의 진화
G90는 신차급 디자인 변화를 적용한 외장 디자인, 소재 고급화에 성공한 내장 디자인을 바탕으로 럭셔리 플래그십 세단의 존재감을 높였다.
G90의 디자인은 ‘수평적인 구조(Horizontal Architecture)의 실현’이 특징으로 차량 전체에 수평적인 캐릭터라인(자동차 차체 옆면 가운데 수평으로 그은 디자인 라인)을 적용해 안정되고 품위 있는 자세, 웅장하고 우아한 캐릭터를 완성했다.
다이아몬드를 빛에 비추었을 때 보이는 아름다운 난반사에서 영감을 받은 제네시스만의 고유 패턴 지-매트릭스(G-Matrix)는 G90의 특별한 요소다.
지-매트릭스(G-Matrix)는 헤드/리어 램프 및 전용 휠, 크레스트 그릴에 적용됐고 강한 선과 풍부한 볼륨감의 균형 잡힌 비례와 함께 고급스러움을 부각시켰다.
제네시스 G90의 전면부는 △명문 귀족 가문 문장 형태의 당당하고 품위 있는 크레스트 그릴 △제네시스의 시그니쳐 디자인 요소인 쿼드램프가 돋보이고 네 개의 램프로 이뤄진 쿼드 램프는 브랜드의 독창성을 표현하고 특별한 정체성을 부여한다.
G90의 측면부는 넓은 접시와 같은 디쉬 형태에 제네시스 지-매트릭스 패턴이 적용돼 정교하면서 기하학적인 19인치 휠/중앙으로부터 여러 바큇살이 퍼지는 멀티스포크 형상의 18인치 휠이 장착됐다.
전면부에서 시작돼 측면부를 감싸 흐르듯 지나 후면부까지 하나의 선으로 이어지고 G90의 후면부는 디자인 변화가 두드러진다.
후면부는 △기존 날개 엠블럼을 영문 글자로 대체한 고급스러운 제네시스 레터링 엠블럼 △심플하면서도 고급스러운 라인으로 연결되는 넓은 리어콤비램프 △전면부 크레스트 그릴 형상과 디자인 통일감을 완성한 듀얼 머플러 △기존 대비 하단부에 위치해 시각적인 무게중심을 낮춰 안정적인 이미지를 구현한 번호판 위치 등이 특징이다.
G90의 내장디자인은 디자인 완성도를 높이면서 외장과 동일한 디자인적 요소를 가미했고 소재를 고급화해 플래그십 세단의 품격을 극대화했다.
클러스터와 내비게이션 디스플레이의 연결감을 강화하고, 송풍구(에어 벤트)와 공조/오디오 스위치의 형상을 변경해 수평적이고 심플한 디자인을 구현했다.
센터페시아 스위치 개수도 줄이는 등 실내 공간의 복잡한 요소를 최대한 단순화해 운전자와 탑승자가 피로하지 않고 편안함을 느낄 수 있도록 했다.
이와 함께 콘솔 위를 가죽으로 감싸고 크롬 도금을 버튼에 적용해 고급스러운 이미지를 연출했다. 이탈리아 다이나미카의 고급 스웨이드로 시트 칼라와 맞춰 제작된 편안한 후석 목베개로 최상의 만족감을 제공한다.
특히 프레스티지 트림은 △크래쉬패드부터 도어 윗부분까지 나파 가죽을 우아하게 감싸 넓고 수평적인 이미지를 구현한 파이핑 및 스티치를 도입하고 △지-매트릭스 패턴의 고급스러운 퀼팅을 새긴 시트 △헤드레스트 및 리어 콘솔 암레스트에 각인된 날개 엠블럼 등으로 감성 품질을 극대화했다.
아울러 G90에는 도장면의 두께를 최소화해 부드러우면서 실제 천연 원목의 색상과 질감을 그대로 살린 오픈 포어 리얼우드가 적용됐다.
유럽, 북미 등 해외 여러 종의 원목을 비교 엄선한 내장재로 자연스러운 아름다움과 고급스러움이 돋보인다.
한편 G90에는 △블랙펄 안료를 사용해 보는 각도에 따라 칼라의 깊이감이 다르게 느껴지는 ‘포르토 레드’ △고급스러운 골드와 모던함이 느껴지는 실버의 장점을 모두 살린 ‘골드코스트 실버’ 등 신규 컬러를 포함해 총 9가지 외장 컬러와 △브라운 투톤 △브라운/블루 투톤 등 신규 투톤 조합을 추가한 7가지 내장 컬러가 운영된다.

◇최첨단 커넥티비티 기술을 통한 G90 고객의 편의성 극대화
G90는 ‘내비게이션 자동 무선 업데이트’, ‘지능형 차량 관리 서비스’ 등 한층 강화된 IT 편의사양을 제네시스 최초로 마련해 고객에게 차별화된 경험을 제공한다.
G90는 신규 내비게이션 지도 및 소프트웨어를 무선으로 다운로드해 자동으로 업데이트하는 내비게이션 자동 무선 업데이트(OTA, Over The Air Update)를 탑재했다.
국산차 최초로 탑재된 내비게이션 자동 무선 업데이트는 내비게이션을 사용 중인 상태에서도 자동으로 다운로드 및 설치가 진행돼 고객 편의성을 극대화했다.
차량이 자동으로 서버와 연결해 내비게이션의 지도와 소프트웨어 버전을 확인한 뒤 최신 정보를 자동으로 필요한 부분만 업데이트하며, 업데이트가 필요한 부분만 진행 및 업데이트 중 재시동 시 중단된 부분부터 이어서 다시 진행하는 것이 특징이다.
지능형 차량 관리 서비스는 머신러닝 기법을 활용해 차량에 기록되는 유의미한 정보로 차량 운행 습관을 분석, 배터리와 브레이크 패드 관리 등의 운전자 맞춤형 차량 관리 가이드를 제공한다.
제네시스 전용 카퍼(Copper) GUI(Graphic User Interface)를 최초 적용한 ‘12.3인치 제네시스 커넥티드 내비게이션’은 G90의 경쟁력이며, 브랜드 컬러에 맞춘 고급스러운 카퍼 컬러가 채택됐다.
12.3인치 대형 내비게이션을 통해 운전자는 지도화면을 확대/축소할 수 있으며, 전/후석 고객이 독립적으로 내비게이션 기능을 사용할 수 있다.
또한 지도, 공조, 날씨, 스포츠, 나침반 등을 상시 표시하는 분할 화면 스크린도 가능하다.
이외에도 △간단한 음성명령으로 원하는 설정 메뉴를 쉽게 찾고 길안내 등 다양한 안내 서비스를 받을 수 있는 음성 설정 검색 △원격으로 시동을 걸거나 끄는 것은 물론 공조, 비상등 점멸, 메모리시트, 열선 조절, 창문 개폐와 시트 제어 등을 지원하는 ‘제네시스 커넥티드 서비스 앱’ △재생 중인 음악의 정보를 제공하는 ‘사운드하운드’ △카카오의 인공지능 플랫폼 KAKAO i(아이)의 음성인식 서버를 활용한 ‘서버형 음성인식’ 등 다양한 첨단 IT 사양을 담았다.
제네시스 G90는 플래그십 세단에 걸맞은 다양한 감성 신기술도 선보인다.
△내비게이션과 연계해 터널 진입 전 창문 및 공조를 자동으로 제어해주고, 국내 최초로 공기가 좋지 않은 지역을 지날 때 자동으로 내기로 전환해주는 ‘외부공기유입방지제어’△외부기온, 차량 실내 온도, 일사량, 공조 설정 등을 종합해 열선/통풍 시트 및 스티어링 휠 열선을 자동으로 조절하는 ‘운전석 자동 쾌적 제어’ △외부공기 유입 차단 및 마이크로 에어 필터를 통한 실내공기 정화를 수행하는 ‘공기 청정 모드’ 등이 탑재되어 운전자는 물론 동승자의 만족도를 높인다.
한편 G90는 신기술을 대폭 적용해 제네시스의 핵심 강점인 정숙성을 한층 개선했다.
소음이 발생하면 반대 위상의 음원을 만들어 소음을 능동적으로 제거하는 신기술 ‘액티브노이즈컨트롤(ANC, Active Noise Control)’이 적용돼 특히 뒷좌석 탑승객이 느끼는 엔진 부밍 소음을 줄였다. 신소재 사용 및 구조 변경 등을 바탕으로 정숙성을 한 차원 높였다.
특히 19인치 휠의 경우 차량 중량을 줄이고 내부에 첨단 용접방법을 적용한 공명 흡음 휠을 사용해 주행 중 발생하는 타이어 공명음을 약 3~4dB 저감했다.
아울러 제네시스 어댑티브 컨트롤 서스펜션을 이용해 주행상황별 진동을 최소화하고 앞바퀴와 뒷바퀴의 감쇠력을 적절히 배분해 승차감 뿐만 아니라 조종 안정성까지 높였다.
이 밖에도 운전자가 가속페달을 밟지 않는 타력 주행 시 변속기를 자동으로 중립화하는 ‘지능형 코스팅 중립제어’를 이용해 실도로 연비를 2~3% 향상시켰다.

◇최첨단 안전기술 확대 적용으로 타협 없는 안전을 구현한 G90
제네시스 G90는 △‘차로 유지 보조(LFA, Lane Following Assist)’ △’내비게이션 기반 스마트 크루즈 컨트롤(NSCC, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control)’ △‘후방 교차 충돌방지 보조(RCCA, Rear Cross-traffic Collision-avoidance Assist)’ △‘후진 가이드 램프’ △‘전방 충돌방지 보조(FCA, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist)’ △‘안전 하차 보조(SEA, Safe Exit Assist)’ 등이 전 트림 기본 적용되고 동승석 무릎에어백 추가 및 충돌성능 향상으로 타협없는 안전을 구현했다.
차로 유지 보조(LFA, Lane Following Assist)는 고속도로는 물론 국도 및 일반 도로에서도 차로를 인식하고 차선을 넘어가는 것을 막아주는 기존 방식에서 한 단계 더 진화해 정중앙 주행을 돕는다.
내비게이션 기반 스마트 크루즈 컨트롤(NSCC, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control)은 내비게이션 도로 정보 기반으로 고속도로 또는 자동차 전용도로에서 속도 제한 구역 진입 시 제한 속도 이하로 감속하고 곡선구간 진입 시 도로 곡률을 판단, 최적의 속도로 감속하여 주행 안전성을 높였다.
△주차 차량의 후진 출차 시 후측방 접근 차량과의 충돌이 위험하면 경보는 물론 긴급 제동까지 수행하는 ‘후방 교차 충돌방지 보조(RCCA, Rear Cross-traffic Collision-avoidance Assist)’ △후진 시 차량 후방 노면에 LED 가이드 조명을 투사해 보행자 및 주변 차량에게 후진 의도를 효과적으로 알리는 ‘후진 가이드 램프’도탑재해 사고 위험을 최소화했다.
G90는 전방 충돌이 예상될 때 경고는 물론 필요 시 자동으로 제동해 충돌을 방지하고 피해를 경감하는 ‘전방 충돌방지 보조(FCA, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist)’ 기능의 감지 가능 범위가 차량 및 보행자에서 자전거와 추월 시 반대편에서 오는 차까지 대폭 확대됐다.
또한 차량 정차 후 승객이 차문을 여는 상황에서 문을 여는 방향의 후방에서 다가오는 차량이 감지되면 클러스터 팝업 및 경고음으로 탑승자에게 후방 위험물체 접근을 알려주는 ‘안전 하차 보조(SEA, Safe Exit Assist)’를 탑재했다.
한편 멀티미디어 시스템을 활용한 안전 편의 사양을 대폭 적용해 운전자의 사고 위험을 최소화했다.
△12.3인치 전체 화면으로 주차 시 주변 상황을 확인할 수 있는 것은 물론 기존 대비 영상 확대/축소 기능이 추가되고 영상 범위가 약 2배 확대된 서라운드 뷰 모니터(SVM, Surround View Monitor) △차량 측방 카메라를 이용해 방향 지시등 조작 시 해당 방향의 후측방 영상을 클러스터 화면에 표시해 사각지대를 없애는 후측방 모니터(BVM, Blind-spot View Monitor)도 이용 가능하다.
이 밖에도 G90는 당사 최초 동승석 무릎에어백을 추가해 탑승객 충돌보호 성능을 극대화한 10에어백 시스템이 적용됐다.
차체 강성 증대로 탑승객을 보호하는 동시에 연성 소재의 충전물 구조를 후드에 삽입해 충돌 시 보행자까지 보호하는 방향으로 발전했다.

Building on the original’s instantly-recognisable design, the new Range Rover Evoque is a sophisticated evolution of the distinctive coupé-like silhouette, typified by its distinctive fast roofline and rising waist, which unmistakably identify the Range Rover family.
The outstanding volume and proportions are amplified by its pronounced shoulders and powerful wheelarches that, alongside new 21-inch wheels, combine to create a strong and dynamic attitude.
The introduction of jewel-like elements such as super-slim Matrix LED headlamps provide a more sophisticated front and rear lamp graphic. Flush door handles add to the smooth, sculpted aesthetic, while sweeping directional indicators create a purposeful signature. Optional R-Dynamic details and burnished copper accents add to the unique appeal.
Inside, the finely crafted design integrates uncluttered surfaces and simple lines with carefully curated materials to create a luxurious, minimalist, digital cabin. Technical textiles that use recycled plastics are offered as premium alternatives to leather, such as a Kvadrat wool blend and Miko Dinamica® suedecloth, as well as Eucalyptus and Ultrafabrics™ options. The cabin is designed to be a calm and serene space, ensuring comfortable, healthy and happy occupants, with technologies such as the twin touchscreen Touch Pro Duo system, featuring new, faster software, 16-way seat controls and cabin air ionisation that complement the increased interior space.

The footprint is almost identical, yet built on Land Rover’s new mixed-material Premium Transverse Architecture, there is more interior space than before. A longer wheelbase yields 20mm extra rear kneeroom and an increase in small item stowage – the larger glove box and centre cubby can now fit tablets, handbags and bottles with ease. The luggage space is 10 per cent larger (591 litres) as well as much wider and easily fits a folded pram or set of golf clubs, with space increasing to 1,383 litres when the flexible 40:20:40 second-row seats are folded.
The new architecture has been developed for electrification, with a 48-volt mild-hybrid available at launch and a plug-in hybrid model offered around 12 months afterwards. The mild hybrid powertrain is a first for Land Rover and works by harvesting energy normally lost during deceleration thanks to the engine-mounted belt-integrated starter generator, storing it in the under-floor battery. At speeds below 11mph (17km/h), the engine will shut off while the driver applies the brakes. When pulling away, the stored energy is redeployed to assist the engine under acceleration and reduce fuel consumption. The result is a refined, quiet and efficient drive in built-up traffic heavy areas, in addition to efficiency savings.
Available across the range (when specified with automatic gearbox) of four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines, the mild hybrid delivers CO2 emissions from as low as 149g/km and fuel economy from 50.4mpg (based on the new NEDC Equivalent WLTP test procedure). If the customer chooses the 150PS diesel engine with front wheel drive, Evoque only emits 143g/km. An even more efficient plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model and three-cylinder petrol Ingenium engine will also join the range next year.
Every bit a Range Rover, the compact SUV combines all-terrain capability with all-weather assurance. New Evoque features All-Wheel Drive, as well as a second-generation Active Driveline with Driveline Disconnect to enhance efficiency and Adaptive Dynamics to deliver the optimum balance of comfort and agility. Terrain Response 2 – technology first found on full-size Range Rover – automatically detects the surface being driven on a adjusts the set-up accordingly, while Evoque can now wade through water up to 600mm (previously 500mm).
The famed Range Rover command driving position has jumped into the digital age, with a segment-first ‘ClearSight rear-view mirror’ that transforms into an HD video screen. If rear visibility is compromised by passengers or bulky items, the driver simply flicks a switch on the underside of the mirror and a camera feed from the top of the car displays what is behind the vehicle in crisp high definition. The screen provides a wider (50-degree) field of vision and superior visibility in low light.
The new Range Rover Evoque is also the first in the world to feature Ground View technology, which effectively makes the bonnet invisible by projecting camera imagery onto the upper touchscreen to show the driver a 180-degree view under the front of the vehicle. This is useful when negotiating difficult parking spaces, navigating high city centre kerbs or tackling rough terrain and is the realisation of the Transparent Bonnet technology previewed by Land Rover in 2014.

Evoque is the first Land Rover with Smart Settings, which uses artificial intelligence algorithms to learn the driver’s preference and acts as an onboard butler. In addition to seat position, music and climate settings, Evoque can also control steering column preferences to maximise comfort and convenience.
Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to the UK car industry continues following a £1 billion investment to support its creation and delivery. This includes £110 million into the company’s UK manufacturing plant in Halewood, Merseyside, to develop the state-of-the-art flexible manufacturing facility.

In normal conditions, the Q4 system transfers 100% of the torque to the rear axle. As the wheels approach their grip limit, the system transmits up to 50% of the torque to the front axle in real time, by means of an active transfer case.
The Q4 system architecture includes an active transfer case and front differential designed to meet the specific technical requirements of Alfa Romeo, including the rapid-response management of high torque levels, with a compact, lightweight set-up. The active transfer case makes use of advanced active clutch technology to deliver a dynamic ride combined with good fuel economy. The next-generation integrated actuator delivers high response speed and precise torque distribution, in line with the selected Alfa DNA Pro drive mode setting.
The Q4 system continuously monitors numerous parameters to optimise torque distribution between the two axles according to what the car is doing and how much grip there is beneath the wheels. This technology can predict imminent loss of grip by processing the data it receives from the lateral and longitudinal acceleration, steering-wheel angle and yaw sensors. In normal conditions, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio with Q4 system acts like a rear-drive vehicle, with 100% of the torque sent to the rear axle. As the wheels approach their grip limit, the system transfers up to 50% of the torque to the front axle via a dedicated transfer case.
To modulate torque distribution with the utmost speed, the system uses a high degree of mechanical overslip between the two axles, which translates into class-leading control in terms of traction and directional stability when cornering.

CDC acts as the "brain" of the Alfa Romeo SUV, and coordinates all the car's electronic systems, to deliver the best performance and the utmost driving pleasure at all times. Specifically, the AlfaTM Chassis Domain Control system simultaneously manages and assigns specific tasks to the various active systems, such as the AlfaTM Active Torque Vectoring system, the AlfaTM Active Suspension system and the ESC, in accordance with the setting selected by the driver with the AlfaTM DNA Pro selector.
The Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the only SUV in its class to provide the AlfaTM Active Torque Vectoring differential as standard. Perfect weight distribution between the two axles required astute management of weights and materials, which was achieved by tweaking the Alfa Romeo SUV's layout and arranging the heavier elements in the most central position possible, to guarantee superlative driving pleasure. The ideal power-to-weight ratio, meanwhile, was delivered with the aid of ultra-lightweight materials such as carbon fibre for the driveshaft and aluminium for the engine, suspensions, brakes, doors, wheel-arches and bonnet.

The design of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is inspired by the idea of “necessary beauty”, as the perfect synergy of form and function is even more extreme in this high-performance SUV. Style and design are not merely aesthetic considerations but also support crucial factors including aerodynamics, speed, power and handling. Mirroring the performance, in Quadrifoglio guise everything is raised to new heights and has an even greater visual impact.
This approach is clearly reflected in the structural vents in the bonnet, the intercooler air vents at the side, the sporty side-skirt and the massive body coloured wheel arches and the four exhaust tips. The nose features the iconic and immediately recognisable "Trilobo" motif, while the unmistakable "Kamm tail" rear ensures that the design is rooted in Alfa Romeo tradition.
The front end of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a perfect mix of seduction and emphatic proportions, conveying a strong message of power. The front end features familiar slots around the shield-shaped grille, together with muscular surfacing and the iconic, immediately recognisable "trilobo" motif with intercooler air vents at the side.
The side view is sensual and athletic, with the famous "quadrifoglio" four-leaf clover on the wheel arch. The overall dimensions are compact: 470cm long, 168cm high and 216cm wide, yet it expresses dynamism and strength. This sensation is emphasised by the wheel arch and the widespread use of the body colour, heightening the impression of a car firmly anchored to the road. The quadruple exhaust tips also give the impression of reaching out to the 20-inch burnished alloy wheels and lead the eyes towards the road. The car's visual make-up was chosen partly in response to structural needs, so its style and design are not merely aesthetic considerations but support crucial factors aiding its aerodynamics, speed, power and handling. This is also reflected in the bonnet with structural vents to allow air to escape from the engine compartment.
The cockpit of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is simple, tasteful and forged around the driver. The controls are grouped together on the steering wheel, which is small and direct to suit all driving styles. The diagonal tunnel and slightly undulating dashboard converge on the driver’s seat, with carbon fibre adorning the console, tunnel, dashboard trim, handle inserts and steering wheel rim. The black seats, in leather and alcantara, are specific to the model and are shaped for more support when cornering. There is a choice of red, white and green and dark grey stitching. The contrasting materials (leather, alcantara and carbon fibre) and coloured stitching combine technology with fine workmanship and attention to detail, for an interior with lashings of personality. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING limited edition has been created, alongside a Giulia version, to celebrate this historic bond between Alfa Romeo and the legendary track.
The many pages in the Green Hell's history include exciting contributions from Alfa Romeo, which nurtured its myth through a wealth of victories and memorable records at the Nürburgring. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the first SUV in the brand's history, holds the record for its segment, having completed the 20.832km of the Nordschleife in 7 minutes 51.7 seconds. This makes it the fastest amongst SUVs, equipped with an outstanding 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine with 510hp and torque of 600Nm powering a top speed of 176mph and acceleration from zero to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds.
Limited edition collectors' models 108 editions of the Stelvio NRING will be available for the EMEA region. Intended for collectors and the most loyal Alfa Romeo customers, the new limited edition comes with exclusive contents, including a numbered badge in the carbon fibre dashboard insert and the unique Circuito Grey livery, exclusively available on this limited edition.

Alfa Romeo at the Nürburgring: living history The new special limited editions consolidate the bond between a brand and a legendary circuit. The first of Alfa Romeo's many victories on the Green Hell was recorded in 1932 by Rudolf Caracciola, driving a Gran Premio Tipo B, who won ahead of two other Alfa Romeos with Nuvolari and Borzacchini at the wheel. Three years later it was the “flying Mantovan” himself who starred in a breath-taking race: driving an Alfa Romeo Tipo B on the verge of retirement, he outclassed his adversaries even from the qualifying stages and achieved a crushing victory in the German Grand Prix.
It has not just been Formula 1: from the Fifties, Alfa Romeo became a key competitor in the Tourism class, with the Giulietta Sprint Veloce, and it consolidated this dominance in the next decade with the Giulia TZ, Giulia TZ2, Giulia Sprint GTA, GTA 1300 Junior and 1750-2000 GTAm, which recorded a long succession of overall and class victories in top races including the 1000km, the 500km and the 6 Hours. The Giulia Sprint GTA is also remembered for the record of 9 minutes 59.7 seconds set by Andrea De Adamich, the first time a GT car with an engine of less than 1,600cc broke the 10 minute barrier.
While the GTA models were unrivalled in their class, Alfa Romeo entered the World Championship for Makes with the new Tipo 33: two victories in 1968 and 1969, in the two litre class, and two world championship titles, in 1975 and 1977. In 1975, Merzario and Laffite won seven of the season's eight races, including victory at the Nürburgring. Another great Alfa Romeo win dates from 1993, when the 155 V6 TI driven by Nicola Larini came home victorious: without success at the Nürburgring, the DTM title would have been incomplete.

The 2019 ILX begins arriving in dealerships October 10 with aggressive new styling that lends Acura's gateway sedan a notably sportier and more sophisticated look, highlighted by the brand's signature Diamond Pentagon grille. In addition to all-new front and rear design, the 2019 ILX receives significant technology upgrades and premium cabin appointments, along with an updated A-Spec sport appearance variant, and newly standard AcuraWatch™ technology.
The redesigned 2019 ILX, available with Premium, Technology and A-Spec packages, carries a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP1) starting at $25,900 (excluding $995 destination and handling), a $2,200 reduction from the outgoing model. At the top of the lineup, the 2019 ILX A-Spec with Technology Package now lists for just $31,550, a reduction $3,550 from the 2018 model.

For 2019, ILX is all-new from the A-pillars forward, including a new Acura signature Diamond Pentagon grille, framed by 7-element Acura Jewel Eye™ LED headlights and a more sharply sculpted hood. The new styling carries through to the rear with an all-new decklid, fascia, LED taillights and lower diffuser with exposed exhaust finisher. All-new wheel designs for 2019 include a 17-inch split 5-spoke wheel with trim specific finishes and an A-Spec exclusive 18-inch wheel.
Inside, the 2019 Acura ILX receives more intricately styled and reshaped sport seats, front and rear, with available high-contrast piping and stitching. All ILXs now feature 2-way power adjustable lumbar support for the driver's seat. Additional interior enhancements include a silver-finished dash trim with chrome insert and a machine-finished ignition button.
Technology Climbing
The 2019 ILX is equipped with an available refreshed dual-screen On Demand Multi-Use Display™ (ODMD™ 2.0) interface with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration. New software offers more intuitive menus and command structures and improves system response time, for a seamless and speedy user experience – approximately 30 percent faster. An enhanced 7-inch touchscreen has a capacitive display that is more responsive to touch and is positioned within easy reach of the driver and front passenger.
For 2019, every ILX comes standard with the AcuraWatch™ suite of active safety and driver-assistive technology, including Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW). AcuraWatch™ technologies are now standard equipment across the entire Acura lineup.

On the exterior, the new ILX A-Spec is distinguished by dark chrome trim for the front grille and lower fascia, LED fog lights, dark appearance for the headlights and taillights, and a gloss-black decklid spoiler. A-Spec models feature 18-inch wheels with an aggressive new design and Shark Gray finish. Apex Blue Pearl, also found on A-Spec variants of RDX and MDX, is now available on the ILX A-Spec.
Interior enhancements for the ILX A-Spec include a graphite-silver dash accent with chrome insert, A-Spec badged steering wheel with contrast stitching and aluminum sport pedals. The all-new sport seats are finished in A-Spec exclusive Ebony or Red leather with black Ultrasuede® center panels and high contrast stitching.

At the Paris Motor Show, Groupe Renault unveiled EZ-ULTIMO, its robo-vehicle concept, an autonomous, electric, connected, and shared mobility service solution offering a premium travel experience. Available on-demand, for a single trip, for an hour or for a day, EZ-ULTIMO caters to people looking to enhance a special moment through a private trip in a city, a premium tourist experience or businesses looking to offer premium journey services to its clients.
“As consumer trends change and people are enjoying ride-hailing services more and more, a new paradigm for mobility will emerge. Embodying this revolution, EZ-ULTIMO offers a unique luxurious experience aboard a robo-vehicle that can be adapted depending on the service provider,” said Laurens van den Acker, SVP Corporate Design. “Inspired by contemporary architecture, and completely integrated in future smart cities, EZ-ULTIMO will provide an exclusive experience for all. Attractive and refined design, inspired by French style
EZ-ULTIMO opens-up new arenas for Renault design. Because it’s a robo-vehicle, the traveller can truly enjoy the journey in a space designed like a personal lounge, equipped with all the comfort and services needed to either relax or concentrate.
Welcoming and comfortable, EZ-ULTIMO embodies the Renault brand's EASY LIFE promise with easy access through a wide automatic opening and a rotating seat on a slide that welcomes the passenger. For more privacy, passengers are hidden by glass facets on the upper part of the car. EZ-ULTIMO’s refined interior, directly inspired by interior architecture, is tailor-made from upscale materials such as wood, marble and leather for a relaxing and enjoyable drive.
Equipped with level 4 autonomous driving technology, EZ-ULTIMO covers a wide range of use cases. This robo-vehicle is connected to infrastructures, can adapt to an urban environment, to the motorway or to a shuttle service on dedicated roads.
Re-inventing Life on Board
As mobility continues to evolve with connected and autonomous cars, Renault believes customers will seek more enriched on-board experiences, reinventing travel time, personally and professionally. To embrace this revolution, the Group has invested in Groupe Challenges and collaborated on a first concept: the Augmented Editorial Experience. AEX is a realist immersive experience which combines personalized premium content, multi-media experiences and mobility - so as to turn travel time into a learning experience for future EZ-ULTIMO passengers for instance.
The EZ concepts trilogy
EZ-ULTIMO is the third in Renault’s family of concepts focusing on autonomous, electric, connected, and shared urban mobility services. EZ-ULTIMO uses the same flexible platform of Renault’s on-demand shared robo-vehicle for ride-hailing EZ-GO, and the autonomous last-mile urban delivery solution, EZ-PRO. Inspired by the same ambition to bring sustainable mobility to all, this trilogy of 100 % electric, autonomous and connected vehicles present an expanded vision for a future-friendly shared mobility system.
