메르세데스-벤츠가 럭셔리를 새롭게 정의하는 최상위S-클래스인 ‘더 뉴 메르세데스-마이바흐 S-클래스(The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class)’를 세계 최초로 공개했다.

더 뉴 메르세데스-마이바흐 S-클래스는 2015년 출시 이후 전 세계적으로 6만여 대의 판매고를 올린 메르세데스-마이바흐 S-클래스의 명성을 이을 완전 변경 모델이다. 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스는 지난 9월 세계 최로로 공개된 S-클래스의 7세대 완전 변경 모델인 더 뉴 S-클래스의 완성도와 첨단 기술에 마이바흐만의 고급스러움과 전통을 더했다.  S-클래스 롱휠베이스 모델보다 18cm 더 긴 휠베이스에서 얻은 이점은 고스란히 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스의 뒷좌석에 집중됐다. 이그제큐티브 시트(Executive Seats)와 쇼퍼 패키지(Chauffeur package)는 뒷좌석을 편안한 업무 및 휴식 공간으로 만들어준다.

럭셔리를 새롭게 정의하는 더 뉴 메르세데스-마이바흐 S-클래스의 디자인

더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스는 정통 3박스 세단으로 극강의 우아함과 차별화된 럭셔리함을 선사한다. 전면부에서 가장 두드러지는 특징은 크롬 처리된 핀(chromed fin)을 장착한 보닛과 메르세데스-마이바흐 라디에이터 그릴이다. 특히, 라디에이터 그릴은 3차원 트림 스트립(trim script)이 세로로 배열돼 메르세데스-마이바흐 만의 차별화 포인트를 완성했다. 기본으로 제공되는 전동식 컴포트 리어 도어(comfort rear door)와 함께, 뒷문은 S-클래스보다 넓고 마이바흐 브랜드 로고가 C-필러(C-pillar)에 적용되어 고급스러움을 더욱 부각시켜 준다. 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스의 고급스러운 외관을 한층 더 강조하는 뚜렷한 구분선이 있는 투톤 색상의 마감이 적용되며, 투톤 페인트는 가장 엄격한 품질 기준에 맞춰 모두 수작업으로 진행된다.

혁신적인 헤드램프 기술인 디지털 라이트(DIGITAL LIGHT)는 안내선이나 경고 마크를 전방의 도로에 투사하는 새로운 기능을 제공한다. 각 헤드램프에 3개의 강력한 LED로 구성된 조명 모듈이 있으며, 광원은 130만 개의 마이크로 미러를 통해 굴절 및 조사된다.

더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스의 실내는 신형 S-클래스의 혁신적인 실내를 토대로 디자인되었다. 조각 작품 같은 모습의 대시보드, 센터 콘솔과 암레스트(armrest)는 넓은 실내 공간 위로 부유하는 듯한 인상을 자아낸다.

뿐만 아니라, 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스는 디지털과 아날로그 럭셔리가 조화를 이루고 있다. 중앙의 12.8인치 OLED 디스플레이를 포함해 최대 5개의 디스플레이 스크린이 제공된다. 12.3인치 3D 운전석 디스플레이가 탑재되며, 이는 다른 도로 이용자를 입체적이고, 뚜렷한 음영으로 표현한다. 또한, 운전석 디스플레이의 드라이버 모드는 메르세데스-마이바흐의 특별함을 한층 강조한다. 다이얼 주변은 브랜드 컬러인 로즈 골드(rosé gold)로 둘러 쌓여 있는데, 이 색상은 인텔리전트한 편의 및 안전 사양과 함께 작동하는 애니메이티드 LED 라이트(animated LED light) 및 액티브 앰비언트 라이팅(active ambience lighting)에도 사용된다.

 

특히, 액티브 앰비언트 라이팅에는 로즈 골드 화이트(rosé gold white)와 아메시스트 글로우(amethyst glow) 두 가지 색상 테마가 새롭게 추가됐다. 실내에는 ‘리어 웰컴(Rear Welcome)’이라는 조명쇼 형태의 새로운 인테리어 기능을 선보인다. 나아가, 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스에서 브랜드 최초로 어댑티브 리어 라이팅(Adaptive rear lighting) 기능이 도입된다. 이 기능은 조명 지점의 밝기, 크기 및 위치를 조절할 수 있다. 정밀한 업무용 조명부터 휴식용 라운지 조명에 이르기까지 다양한 조절 범위를 제공한다.

이와 함께, 앞 좌석의 넓은 트림 공간에도 다양한 클래식한 럭셔리 요소가 적용됐다. 앞 좌석 등받이의 뒷면은 고급 우드 소재가 가장자리를 감싸고 있다. 퍼스트-클래스 리어(First-Class Rear) 사양을 선택하면 양 뒷좌석 사이에 시선을 사로잡는 트림 공간이 위치하게 된다.

더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스는 더 뉴 S-클래스의 롱휠베이스 모델보다 18cm 늘어난 휠베이스를 제공하며, 늘어난 휠베이스의 이점은 대부분은 뒷좌석에 활용되었다. 좌/우 뒷좌석에 이그제큐티브 시트(Executive seats)를 비롯해 주로 뒷좌석에 탑승하는 마이바흐 S-클래스 고객을 위해 쇼퍼 패키지(Chauffeur Package)가 기본으로 장착되었다. 이에, 탑승자는 이그제큐티브 시트의 바닥면과 등받이를 각각 조절할 수 있고, 앞 좌석에 있는 풋레스트(footrest)와 전동 방식의 레그레스트(legrest)를 이용하면 하나로 이어지는 편안한 리클라이닝 좌석이 만들어지면서 수면을 취하기 쾌적한 상태가 조성된다. 레그레스트의 조절 범위는 이전 모델 대비 약 50mm 가량 늘어났다. 시팅 컴포트(Seating Comfort) 패키지의 일환으로 마사지 기능이 적용된 뒷좌석 종아리 받침대와 뒷좌석의 목/어깨 부위 온열 기능도 새롭게 추가됐다.

더욱 개인화되고 직관적으로 사용할 수 있는 MBUX 인포테인먼트 시스템

OLED 기술이 일부 적용된 5개의 대형 스크린은 더욱 손쉽게 차량과 편의 사양을 제어할 수 있도록 도와준다. 이를 통해 개인에 맞게 구성하고 직관적으로 작동할 수 있는 영역도 더욱 방대하게 늘어났다.

선택 사양으로 제공되는 MBUX 인테리어 어시스트(MBUX Interior Assist)는 탑승자의 다양한 의도를 인식하며, 상황에 따라 자동으로 차량의 기능을 지원하기 위해 탑승자의 눈이 향하는 방향, 손동작, 신체 움직임을 인식한다. 또한, 루프 라이너 내 3D 레이저 카메라를 통해 뒷좌석 탑승자의 움직임 및 동작을 인식할 수 있다.

효율적인 동력 전달을 위한 정제된 엔진과 최상의 편안함과 민첩함을 위해 세팅된 서스펜션

더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스에는 메르세데스-벤츠의 전동화 기술이 적용된 엔진이 탑재되었다. 2세대 통합 스타터 제너레이터(Integrated Starter-Generator, ISG)는 최대 15kW의 부스트를 제공한다. 또한, 정속 주행 시 효율적인 글라이딩(gliding)을 지원하고, 에코 스타트/스톱(ECO start/stop)의 편의성을 향상해 구동 시스템의 전반적인 효율성을 끌어올린다. 9단 자동변속기(9G-TRONIC)는 통합 스타터 제너레이터에 맞게 한층 더 발전됐다.

연속 조절식 댐핑 ADS+(Adjustable Damping System+)가 적용된 에어매틱(AIRMATIC) 에어 서스펜션이 기본 제공되고, 전용 마이바흐 모드가 포함된 다이내믹 셀렉트(DYNAMIC SELECT)를 이용해 운전자는 파워트레인, ESP®, 서스펜션 및 스티어링의 특성을 각각 변경할 수 있다. 이는 중앙의 디스플레이 하단에 위치한 컨트롤을 이용해 선택할 수 있으며, 특히 마이바흐 전용 드라이빙 모드는 오롯이 탑승자에게 안락한 승차감을 제공하는데 중점을 맞췄다.

선택 사양으로 제공되는 48V를 기반으로 한 능동형 E-액티브 바디 컨트롤(E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL)은 스테레오 카메라를 이용해 전방의 도로를 스캔, 요철 부분을 부드럽게 주행할 수 있도록 도와주고, 나아가 측면 충돌 시에도 추가적인 탑승자 보호 기능을 제공한다.

기본으로 탑재되는 리어 액슬 스티어링(rear-axle steering)은 회전 궤적을 2m가량 줄여줘 도심 지역에서의 운전 조작 능력을 향상시켜준다. 4.5도 및 10도 두 가지 옵션으로 제공되는 리어 액슬 스티어링은 기존 13.1m인 회전 궤적을 12.2m와 11.2m로 각각 줄여준다.

극강의 안락함을 선사하는 탁월한 NVH 성능 및 안전, 편의 사양

더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스는 더 뉴S-클래스의 우수한 NVH 성능을 한층 더 향상시켰다. 더욱 강화된 NVH 기술의 혜택은 주로 뒷좌석에 집중되어 있다. 뒷바퀴 아치 부분에 흡음재 폼이 설치되어 있고, 추가로 제공된 C-필러의 고정식 삼각창은 뒷좌석 승객의 머리 부위와 가깝게 위치해 있어 라미네이트 처리된 유리가 두껍게 적용되어 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스에는 메르세데스-벤츠 사상 최초로 능동형 노면소음 저감기술(Active road noise compensation, AFGK)이 적용됐다. 이는 원치 않는 저주파 소음을 반대되는 음파를 이용해 줄이는 기술로, 사운드 재생을 위해 부메스터® 하이엔드 4D 서라운드 사운드 시스템(Burmester® high-end 4D surround sound system)의 베이스 스피커가 사용된다.

마이바흐 S-클래스에서는 특히 뒷좌석의 안전에 항상 각별한 주의를 기울여왔다. 이를 보여주는 것이 바로 혁신적인 뒷좌석 에어백으로, 심각한 정면충돌 시 뒷좌석 에어백이 좌/우 뒷좌석에 앉아 좌석 벨트를 착용한 탑승객의 머리와 목에 가해지는 충격을 현저히 줄여줄 수 있다. 더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스에서는 사상 최초로 뒷좌석 탑승객에게 자동으로 벨트가 연장되는 뒷좌석 벨트 피더(belt feeder)를 제공한다. 뒷좌석 벨트 피더는 벨트를 착용하도록 유도하는 간접적인 방식으로, 벨트 착용의 편의성을 높여주며, 이그제규티브 좌석 조절형 등받이와 일체형으로 디자인되어 탑승객들이 항상 편안하게 움직일 수 있다.

더 뉴 마이바흐 S-클래스에 새롭게 도입되었거나, 이전보다 더욱 확장된 주행 보조 시스템은 차량 속도 및 거리 조절, 스티어링 및 차선 변경 시 운전자의 피로를 덜어준다. 덕분에 운전자는 집중력을 오래 유지할 수 있고 목적지에 더욱 안전하고 편안하게 도착할 수 있다. 위험이 닥치는 경우, 주행 보조 시스템이 상황에 따라 대처해 발생 가능한 충돌의 강도를 완화시키거나 심지어 충돌 상황을 피할 수 있도록 도와준다.​

2018 메르세데스-마이바흐 S클래스(MERCEDES-MAYBACH S-CLASS) 초고화질 사진들만 정리해봅니다. 

메르세데스가 브랜드를 벤츠, AMG, 마이바흐로 정리하면서 전처럼 전용 모델이 아닌 벤츠 모델을 베이스로 고급화시킨 형태로 바뀌었지요.

S560과 S650 형태로 나뉘며 560엔 4매틱 모델도 나옵니다. 엔진은 V8 4.0 트윈 터보와 V12으로 각각 345마력, 463마력의 출력을 냅니다. 거대한 기함임에도 순발력도 뛰어나 4.9초, 4.7초면 100km/h까지 가속할 수 있습니다.

마이바흐에서 G클래스까지 작업하네요.

마이바흐가 예전엔 별도의 브랜드였지만 이젠 메르세데스의 서브 브랜드죠.

해서 이름이 메르세데스-마이바흐로 시작합니다. 


이번 모델은 마이바흐의 첫번째 SUV가 되는 마이바흐 G650 랜덜렛입니다. 랜덜렛은 앞부분은 고정이고 뒤쪽만 오픈되는 타입인데 아주 고풍스럽죠.


메르세데스의 프리미엄 전담 브랜드 마이바흐가 G클래스로 라인업을 확장했다. 오는 3월 열리는 2017 제네바 모터쇼를 통해 정식 데뷔할 G650 랜덜렛(G650 Landaulet)은 극강의 오프로드 주행성과 마이바흐의 고급스러움을 정교하게 교접한 새로운 모델이다. 

 

G클래스 롱버전을 베이스로 개발되었으며 운전석은 고정, 2열 좌석 위를 오픈한 랜덜렛 형태다. 마이바흐 62S 랜덜렛을 통해 이미 그 고급스러움을 경험한 바 있다. 2열을 뒤로 살짝 밀고 마이바흐 세단에 버금가는 최고급 시트를 얹었다. 2개의 모니터와 온열 기능을 내장한 컵홀더를 마련했다. 

 

엔진은 AMG의 V12 6.0리터 트윈 터보로 최고출력 630마력을 낸다. 최대토크는 자그마치 1,000마력에 달한다. 여기에 AMG 전용 변속기와 3개의 LSD를 갖춘 구동계로 전천후 주행성을 확보했다. 

 

마이바흐는 G650 랜덜렛을 99대만 한정 생산할 예정이며 각 오너들은 4가지 컬러와 3가지 컬러의 소프트톱 중 하나씩 선택할 수 있다.

지난 80여 년 간 전세계 최고급 엘리트 세단의 기준이 되어온 전설적인 모델 마이바흐의 계보를 잇는 마이바흐 57과 마이바흐 62 가 새롭게 태어났다. 12기통 엔진의 최고출력을 630마력(hp)으로 올렸고 배출가스는 줄였다. 8년 20만km 보증 등 프리미엄 서비스는 이어졌다.

Since 2002 Maybach has been defining new standards in the top league of high-end luxury saloons, whilst at the same time continuing the tradition of legendary Maybach vehicles which were part of the elite in the German and international automotive construction industry in the nineteen twenties and thirties of the last century. “To create only the best from the best, a vehicle that is the ultimate in wish fulfilment, with a distinctive character of the finest elegance and power” – this is how a Maybach flyer dating back to 1930 declared the company’s aim, and it still applies at Maybach in its entirety to this day. This clear avowal of the extraordinary obliges Maybach to evolve its high-end luxury saloons at a top level.
Striking, self-confident design
The current Maybach saloons shine with their self-confident, effortlessly superior, distinctive charisma. It is above all the dominant chrome radiator grille that emphasises their exceptional status – it is meticulously crafted in two different variants. In the Maybach 57 and 62 models it is graced with 20 fine longitudinal bars and in the 57 S and 62 S Maybach models twelve solid double louvres with a “shadow strut” put the spotlight on the vehicle’s tremendous power. Both arrow-shaped radiator grilles are also higher than on the first Maybach saloons with which Mercedes-Benz revived the tradition-steeped luxury brand in 2002. They also have considerably larger dimensions, are positioned more upright and further forward in the direction of travel – clearly symbolising the self-confident status and effortlessly superior, striking appearance.
The designers have elevated the modified bonnet with a higher front upper edge and given it sharply defined contours. It has a shaped edge and appears distinctly arrow-shaped, more expressive and longer than before. A horizontally structured bumper trim gives the Maybach saloons a broad look from the front. Daytime driving lights featuring LED technology and bordered with a chrome insert have been integrated into the outer air intakes.
The exterior mirrors with optimised aerodynamics for less driving noise harmonise very well with the striking front. Their large mirror surface also means improved vision. Dark red tail lights of exquisite material quality complete with chrome embellishment, plus chrome trim used on the handle in the boot lid lend the end section a powerful, distinguished look. This in turn is underlined by high-sheen 21-spoke 19-inch wheels in titanium silver for the Maybach 57 and 62 models. The Maybach 57 S and 62 S models are shod as standard with 12-spoke 20-inch wheels painted in noble sterling silver. The Maybach saloons are 11 millimetres longer than the 2002 models, and 17 millimetres wider when the exterior mirrors are folded out.
Interior – superb craftsmanship
As one would expect, the Maybach MANUFAKTUR showcases masterly handcraftsmanship with no compromises in the interior, where materials of the highest quality abound. As is the case with everything from Maybach, the utmost attention has been paid to every last detail. Every seam, every joint is perfectly executed, viewed from every angle this is a feast for the eyes, touching every single feature is a tactile delight – noblesse oblige. Three interior appointments with different leather, carpet and headlining colours (Saona Beige for the Maybach 57 and 62, Whitehaven Beach and Kuril Islands for the Maybach 57 S and 62 S) round off the original range. They create an elegant, light and stimulating lighting mood – especially in conjunction with the unique electrotransparent panoramic glass sunroof in the models with a long wheelbase. It spans the roof liner above the rear passengers like an atrium, allowing light to flood the rear compartment and gives a rare degree of control over the illumination of the surroundings. It features a liquid crystal membrane of conductive polymer plastic. When an alternating current is applied to it, the crystals in the plastic membrane are arranged in such a way that the glass becomes transparent and allows daylight into the rear of the Maybach 62 models over its entire area. As soon as the power is switched off, the liquid crystals lose their transparent arrangement again and the light is fragmented in all directions. The glass becomes nearly opaque and filters the daylight falling on it to produce a pleasant, diffused glow. This electrically operated transparency function is also used in most countries for the partition screen that can be ordered as an option.
An electrically driven sliding liner completes the luxurious lighting package. Its electroluminescent membrane can be switched on at the touch of a button when closed, emitting a pleasant, diffused light over its entire surface. A rotary switch in the rear console of the Maybach 62 models gives the rear passengers complete control over the illumination of the membrane and strength of the ambient lighting.
Some exquisite new additions have found their way into the large selection of trim available. There is now trim in selected dark brown bird’s-eye maple, which can also be combined with brilliant porcelain piano lacquer in the Maybach 57 S and 62 S models, underlining the refined ambience. As an alternative, a sporty touch comes in the form of carbon-fibre trim elements in new colours, among them silver and red.
Lovers of more compact vehicle dimensions are now able to enjoy the outstanding comfort afforded by the rear reclining seats – originally only available in the Maybach saloons with a long wheelbase. As an option this first-class armchair can now be installed on the passenger side in the rear of the Maybach 57 and 57 S models as an option. At the same time Maybach has enhanced the craftsmanship of the seats for all models. The look of the seat upholstery layout has been refined and is adorned with additional piping. On request the piping running round the seats can also be supplied in a hand-braided version with four fine, individual leather stripes or adorned with valuable SWAROVSKI® ELEMENTS in the headrests. In the upper part of the seat backrest, a badge in hand-polished 925 sterling silver with the embossed Maybach logo and “MAYBACH MANUFAKTUR” lettering is an impressive indication of the great love of detail, serving as a reminder of the prestigious ambience in which one is travelling.
The partition available as an option for the Maybach 62 and 62 S can also be personalised with motifs of the customer’s choosing. In these cases the highly qualified specialists at the Maybach Manufaktur first of all skilfully cut the desired motif from a film before affixing it to the partition. They then irradiate the exposed areas with diamond particles, so that a matt surface is created in the contours of the chosen motif.
A scented haven of wellbeing
Maybach cuts an equally fine figure when it comes to the range of individualisation options available for the luxury saloons, which are constantly being extended. For instance, there is an extremely high-quality flacon perfume atomiser available on request, having been developed exclusively by Maybach. This exquisite equipment detail – the only one of its kind anywhere in the world – represents a very special highlight indeed. At the touch of a button it produces a unique fragrant experience thanks to the use of sophisticated technology and high-quality perfume which discreetly, unobtrusively and gently stimulates the passengers’ senses. There is absolutely no comparison between this and other solutions containing concentrates or particulate matter.
At the heart of the system lies an internally illuminated Plexiglass sphere on the rear centre console, into which Maybach owners can insert a flacon containing a perfume they have personally selected. A compressor then directs a gentle flow of air into the Plexiglass sphere, fanning the flacon’s perfume molecules into the vehicle interior.
The perfume atomiser can be activated either from the driver’s seat or by means of a button in the rear centre console, with an additional thumbwheel in the rear for sensitive aroma control. The chosen fragrance gently wafts into the passenger compartment within ten to twelve seconds. On models with a partition screen, only the passengers in the rear are able to activate the atomiser.
The aroma experts took the particular biological characteristics of the human nose into consideration when designing the control mechanism. As it adjusts to smells in such a way that it no longer perceives them after a short while, the perfume atomiser switches off after about ten minutes. Once the system has switched off, the fragrance – which does not seep into the interior’s materials or the occupants’ clothes – quickly evaporates. Reactivating the atomiser later allows the fragrant experience to be enjoyed all over again.
Entertainment and electronics are state of the art
Entertainment galore comes courtesy of a multiformat DVD player. It reads all important formats such as DVD-R/DVD-RW/CD-R/CD-RW, DVD video/video CD and CD-DA playback/MP3. As an option a large high-resolution cinema screen with a 19-inch diagonal can be fitted to the centre of the partition in the Maybach 62 models, as an alternative to the 9.5‑inch monitors in the rear. Sound in concert-hall quality is on tap in the form of a 600-watt sound system with 21 loudspeakers from renowned hi-fi specialist BOSE®.
As an option Maybach can also install an overview camera in the vehicles with a partition and cinema screen. Rear passengers are then able to keep an eye on the traffic in front of them without being seen themselves – even with an opaque partition window. This creates an oasis of seclusion in which they can always enjoy total privacy.
An innovative WLAN router takes care of wireless internet access – even during the journey. As an alternative, mobile devices can also be connected via a cable to a LAN socket in order to reduce electromagnetic radiation in the interior. This sophisticated internet connection utilises the rapid transmission standards HSDPA, UMTS and GSM/EDGE. It is capable of serving three mobile devices such as laptops simultaneously, so it is child’s play for Maybach owners to synchronise the data on their laptop with those on their computer at home or in the office, or to keep constant track of the current news via the internet, for instance. A mobile phone hands-free system with Bluetooth functionality and voice transmission via the vehicle’s existing loudspeakers and microphones is also available as a further option.
More powerful yet fewer emissions
Even though the engineers at Maybach have increased the output of the Maybach 57 S and 62 S by 13 kW (18 hp) to 463 kW (630 hp), they were able to reduce the consumption figures (from 6.4 to 15.8 l/100 km) and the CO2 output (from 390 to 368 g/km CO2) at the same time. The output of the 57 and 62 models remained unchanged (405 kW/550 hp), but consumption (15.0 as opposed to 15.9 l/100 km) and CO2 output (350 as opposed to 383 g/km) was also cut here. All the Maybach twelve-cylinder engines meet the EU5 standard/LEV2.
Warranty covering eight years or 200,000 kilometres
With the country-specific Maybach service and warranty packages Excellent and Basic, service and warranty are covered up to a vehicle age of eight years or a mileage of 200,000 kilometres/125,000 miles. After this point the life-long mobility warranty applies.
